Doing my fair share

Reacently in a thread, which really had nothing to do with this subject, I was told this;

If you want to earn more EFDs you should do your share to earn them IMO.

Fair enough I thought, though I didn’t ask how to earn EFD’s. I then asked, how this person suposed I should do my fair share, but I never recieved an answer.

So how to do my fair share?

The exact formulas for the awarding of EFDs varies in many ways, depending on the forum in which a thread is created, length and rating of thread, and several other factors. The best way to earn EFDs is to be an active and regularly contributing member of the forum, and by creating interesting and popular threads in the proper forums. Moderators and admins will also regularly award EFDs to members who exhibit exceptional contrbutions to the EF community.

Creating or replying to threads when I really have nothing usefull to say, is IMHO, not doing my fair share.

When people are viewing or replying to a thread I wrote, I am not doing my fair nor do I have any control over this.

The EFD Bank is straight forward, but again i’m not doing my fair share nor does it pay very well, though an anual interest of 12.87% is a very fair interest rate.

Member paycheck will come no matter what I do and again I am not doing my fair share nor is it a fortune we recieve. I supose I could become a premium member, which would be doing my fair share as I’d support EF. I might become a premium member one day, but what then?

The Lottery is the same story and again you have no control, actually you are likely to loose EDF’s on it.

The EF referrals makes some sence, however, the link doesn’t work and I therefor know nothing about how this works.

Last is the global screenshot competition, which apperently isn’t a competition at all. I’d say this is in the same category as the EF referrals, but as I rarely hunt in teams, this is not very relevant to me.

I’m just gonna throw a question out their for all of YOU to answer, how to you earn EFD’s? I see all those people with multiple thosands of EFDs and cant help but wonder if they activly try to get them, won the lottery, or just happen to get those over time.

The EFD system was instituted as a way to reward members who share information and experiences about EU, and who particpate in discussions about Entropia Universe.

The vast majority of EFDs are earned by thread starters (who earn EFDs for each reply made in their threads, as well as other members viewing their thread). Threads posted in certain forums, such as Tutorials, earn more EFDs than in other forums, since threads in that section are helpful to the communty. Similarly, some forums do not earn any EFDs at all, such as the Off Topic and Trading sections.

Interesting topic - and no, I’m not spamming for EFD :laugh:

IMO doing one’s fair share would be by being an active forum member, by a post actually adding something to a debate rather than pointing out the obvious or rehashing what has already been said; or by adding something humorous to it - that sort of thing.
Having said that, there are times when quoting another’s post and replying “Agreed 100%” or something similar can be a valid post.

But, as with every other forum on t’internet, there are those who will spam to increase their postcount/EFD balance/e-penis, they will create polls just for the bonus EFD and so on.

As I’m obviously the one who somehow caused this thread to be created I thought I could add some words on my own.

What I meant is that it somehow works like a RL world thing. If you participate in discussions, create ones on your own, … you somehow become part of the “system”. And with simple bashing, flaming, being an idiot, … you get yourself out of the “system”. As long as you are part of the “system” you will see that the EFD count grows. It won’t grow in a way that you end up with a million EFDs by the end of the next week. But I hope that’s obvious.

TBH, and I don’t know if this is something important to say here, most of the time I’m just reading and trying to find information so basically I’m not really active. Or at least not as active as other posters. In other words I just post every now and then.

Why? Because many questions have been asked and answered, many topics have been discussed more than once. So there’s no reason to post the same thing for the tenth time.

As for earning EFDs:
