Does jumping help avoid robot shots?

Well, that’s pretty much my question.
Does jumping, running in zigzags, spinning in the air - help avoid robot shots.
And does it helpgain dodge skill? Or do you gain dodge skill when you’re hit only? I kinda thought it’s random really. Sometimes you gain skill when you succeed to dodge, sometimes when you’re hit. I am not too good in dodge, only 210. But what interests me more is… can you avoid damage by jumping?

hmmm..I don’t think so. Best way to avoid getting hit used to be not to move but that doesn’t work anymore. ( I used to like being a human decoy when laying down made you invulnerable to damage…:slight_smile: )

Seems the best way to hunt bots is to have a decent sniper rifle and a good close range weapon to finish em off.

i dont think jumping helps…

moving sideways ..maybe as the bot turns…

a few VUs back i could outrun bots though(pulled a drone 06 up to camp phoenix)

from my experience dodge is just like evade but doesnt give u a skillgain that often…

well there might be some more experienced bothunters hiding somewhere…

I used to think that running from side to side did help… but I rarely hunt drones so I’m not the most authoritative voice on the matter. In my exp, however, it seemed to perhaps help slightly…

This reminded me of when me some socmate used to hunt armax guardians/providers E of Argus about every day a year ago. You know there are warriors there, and I could NOT handle warriors by myself back then. So if one came after me -what did I do? I ran in circles around it. It really did seem like I survived longer then, and my teammates got to kill it :smiley:

Running in circles does seem to make mobs confused. I use to run in circles around Atrox Gaurdians and I would never get hit by them… until I tried to take off. :frowning:

As for bots… I never hunt them but wen running by them ( or the times I did try to hunt them :laugh: ) strafing side to side seemed to help. Maybe they have the same style auto-aim we now have?

yes, bot hunt is exactly what I do. Observe my sniper rifle. :smiley:

Lie down thing was extremely well East of Argus for warriors as well.
And yes, it sucks that bots can run now.

But yeah, whenever I jump or run sideways, they shoot in advance, and still hurt me. I don’t think they used to.

well i know this doesnt work for bots, but of course ppl are using this to their advantage in pvp to make me miss :stuck_out_tongue: jump and spin makes ppl shift around at least on my screen, but i have talked to a ton of others who have the exact same problem :stuck_out_tongue:

Circling sometimes seem to work. But it seems that you need to be in exact distance/speed. I circled long time around a combibo without getting hit at all. It depends a lot on mobs attack animation and turning speed though.

I often walk backwards too! Some1 told me once that it helped… but I personally don’t think it does… but it doesn’t seem to hurt either :wink:

I reported everyone I saw doing that since its exploiting and its not fair to legit hunters, its a shame I missed you doing it :cool:

And the jumping around doesnt work,I stand completely still and dodge 50% or more.If I have a good day I kill a warrior05 using pixie,no fap and a nice little pistol :tongue2:
