Since 7.2 I’ve had some problems with the rods. If I put a claim up and run 50 meters away from it, it disappears. Only visually though, if I run back it reappears. Has anyone else noticed this? ![]()
Yep…i’ve made it a habit to keep my deed map open, so I can get a general idea of where it is…this is especially in high Mob areas…
I always get turned around when trying to mine and hunt at the same time.
Yep I’ve noticed it too.. ![]()
It’s one of the worst “features” in this VU.If it is a feature  I wrotte a suport case on 24.03.2005 asking them about it , no asnwer
I’m not sure if it was ment to make less lag by making them dissapear and reappear but it just sucks big time , not to mention every time I come back to find the claim I start lagging when the claim shows up again. I go to the blast marks to find it , opening inv. every time to find your own claim that is in your radar is just ridiculous !! What about Amethera ? No blast marks lol , no way I’m gonna mine there right now if I can’t even find my own claims unless I open my inv. every time to find the coordonates :eek:One big waste of time:wise: Mining is a tedious job , boring sometimes for a lot of people , right now that feeling is increased by this “feauture”…
MA please make it so claims can be seen if there are in the players radar !
The claim deed deposit size update is back, something bad had to happen in order to compensate…
The good thing is that you know when your claim rod is out of reach because your claim will become an “unknown”-sized deposit in your inventory ![]()
No, seriously… I hope they are working on it.
Yep I agree that it’s the most disturbing after the VU and I really really hope this isn’t the way it was meant to be, the new claim deeds were allready pretty hard to spot, and now it’s almost impossible, especially on Amethera.
This means you have search them by the coordinats or start skilling your memory :silly2:
But it makes you loose alot of time ![]()
PE has the same problems associated with other games of this type. How much eyecandy can you put in a multiplayer game before either your computer or the data system becomes choked. Also where is the data comming from, is it client or server side. Since game companys pay for bandwith, it effects their bottom line. Not to mention security issues, were developers need to consider were important data originates from, due to the fact that software installed in client side can be hacked.
So, when there are value transactions such has items purchased or items of values recieved, those would have to be done at the server side since it is the most secure location. Let me give an example…you go hunting, the server generates the mob, you shoot at the mob, whether there is a hit or not is determined by the server and then is sent to you, the client. One could save a lot of data transfer by letting the client tell the server you made that hit and by how much, but since client side software could be hacked the server has to verify it in some manner, as to be assured it is not corrupted data.
In another words the developers have to decide what your computer(client) and their computers(servers) can handle, and that data then is send or confirmed between each other, within the limits of the bandwith. Since lag reduction is desirable and data security cant be compromised, the best way to reduce lag is to reduce POV(point of view) items down to the minimum requirement, at the client side computers.
Whether or not shortening the distance of sight on the rods was a good move, depends on the intent. If it was to reduce the amount of data that your computer has to load and reducing lag, it would be a plus. But it is not a good thing for us, for we depend on that information to proceed where to go next, but then again making it harder for us to find loot impacts their bottom line, cause we now spend more money doing it.

You’re wrong. If I don’t find my claims easy I WASTE my time , not my peds
:wise: More time to do the same actions I used to make faster means less decay on my MD , on my excavator , on my refiner …so less money for MA from decay.

AND, on Amethera the ground heals right away, so when you dop a probe there’s no little mound to go by or now big huge black spot for bombs…
makes it even harder now that the rods can’t be seen.
It wasnt about NOT FINDING the claim rods. It was about NOT SEEING them, which means its harder to determine how the vain runs from the distance. There are distractions when mining, mobs getting too close and trees and hills. So since your not able to see the rods your guessing more and dropping bombs in the wrong places.
And btw looking at black spots or mounts dont help, cause its only shows that you searched somewhere but doesnt indicate where you found something. Rods show where and are the best indicators of how a vein runs.

Haven’t really seen this mentioned and I know I lost some locations not being able to see them/remember where they were before I found this.
If you go to the area in your inventory that holds BluePrints you will see a claim deed. If you right click it, it will bring up a map of where the claim is and where you are in relation to that claim.
I know this is probably a noob thing. But thought it might help out the noobs.

to be honest i h8te this new mining claim rods… they suck… u dont see them very far wich sucks al0t.
another thing thas has appened to me ALOT latlly is finding 2 deposits in the same cords with diferent depths that means if u try to put the rod it will apper some strange simbol and then if u rebomb/reprobe the deposit is not there anymore.
wich sucks alot
i usualy have to cancel search extract and then bomb again for the second depo.

Just a tip for finding those claim rods. If you use headphones instead of speakers it’s easier to figure out where they are when you hear them “respawning” when you get within the 40m radius.
Why I can see a Gibnib at 100m but not my claim rod with the light on it I’ll never understand.

Isnt that say everthing?
I think the problem is not to find the claims, even in older VUs sometimes i need the claim map to find one of them. But it was nice to get to a higher point and see the configuration of the clusters that i got. I could use that to know where i should (or think i should) bomb next.
They say its because of lag  . Please, if lag was the issue we never see so many bombs/probes stuck in the floor (action denied try again :duh: ), also the recent increase of graphics in the game as slowdown the system (mine in particular, yeah i cant afford 3000ghz and so on state-of-art hardware), now i see fish runing like crazy in the floor (at least they dont bite) etc, etc, etc.
But even so if that is because of the so called “lag” why the dam rods dont appear on the radar???.
What are you afraid MA, miners get all the money?? That will never happen when the smallest hunting HoF is sometimes much greater then the top mining HoF.
By the way this is my 1st post here, and i just love this forum. Its really nice to see so many dedicated people here. ![]()
I hate whining, but the rod thing really suckies alot. SO much difficult to find veins these days. The only thing I do in PE is mine, so you WOULD kinda really hatethis thing, if it was your main profession. :S
Guess thats just another act from MA to make miners earn less. to bomb the wrong places, to loose peds and for MA to make money. but meh, have to live with it. It was so much easier before, to find veins, to find deposits. But meh, have to live with it now. ![]()
