Sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum.
I recently became involved in this game, a a few minutes ago i purchased 100 PED 
However I have one slight problem, it crashes every 15 mins or so.
Quite irritating. The thing closes and does the thing to send off my system specs to mindark.
Iām pretty sure itās not my specs 
AMD Athlon 3800+ x2,
1 GB RAM,
Geforce 7800 GTX,
500 GB HDD.

Any ideas?

Did you try the check system optin on the client loader ?
Do you have actual graphic drivers ?
Windows XP?
Do you expirience problems in other games/programs ?

Yes I have the latest graphics drivers.
Windows XP Pro.
All my other games are fine.
Apart from this minor problem I am loving this game. I always thought that introducing real money into a game with economy would be amazing
I believe I found the problem. The game has NVIDIA driver 7772 driver requirement, which is the old driver. The new driver is only a few weeks old Iām sure the next game update will have a fix :tongue2:
Although i havent had any problems with my AMD X2 dualcore processor (4400+) you might wanna try and alt-tab out of the game and open taskmanager, choose āprocessesā and then find PE.EXE, rightclick it and choose āSet Affinityā, and then be sure only one CPU is selected.
Not certain it would help as my X2 handles PE just fine, but worth a try.
It just may be a driver problem.
I used to CTD (crash to desktop) often. I couldnāt figure out the problem. In any given day I would crash at least 15 times. Very annoying.
Turned out the problem in the end was a bad memory stick.
Replaced it and since then I rarely crash.
The exact same thing is happening to me. Iāve only been playing PE for two days, but Iāve never had so many crashes in my life.
My Nvidia driver is version 7801 and I havenāt been having any problems with any other games, so I really donāt want to downgrade my driver just to play PE.
However, I really think some of the problem is caused by the horrible controls PE uses. Now, I love point and click style controls, but I find PEās very frustrating. Trying to click on a target to select it and then click on it again to perform an action (all the while trying to stop my character from walking forward whenever I left click) is driving me up the wall.
Iām forever mashing the mouse buttons in frustration and I think this might have something to do with my crashes, it just canāt process the information fast enough.
I wish to God that there was some way to make the character stand in place and not move while performing an action (like in Diablo where you held down the shift key to make your character stand in place while firing).
Anyway, Iād be very interested to know if you find a solution to the crashes.

Pesky - if I remember right MA sets the controls up in an awkward fashion when you first start. You can change the way they work by pressing āOā.
Experiment with the check boxes on the right hand side and soon you will find a better way of controlling your avatar. When configured correctly - you use the space bar to enable your mouse to look around. Then when you hit the space bar again you have the mouse arrow to interact with certain things (like inventory).
Hard to explain - but try messing with those check boxes and Iām sure you will find an easier way.
I had the problem that my Pc shut down every 5 - 10 minutes when I played PE. I put down the FSB and had no crashes since then.
Thanks for the advice Hybrid. I think Iām finally getting the hang of it, Iāve managed to figure out how to hotkey the āgather sweatā action. And life is much, much easier now :D.
Sheesh, this game has a very steep learning curve. Thank Heavens for these forums, Iād be totally lost without them.
Note: About the crashes. I gave in and installed the Nvidia 7772 driver. The game seems a lot more stable now touchwood. Iāve only had one crash since installing it. Of course, not mashing my mouse buttons every few seconds might be helping a liitle bit too :laugh:.
