Crafting Materials

I just started the fine art of weapon crafting. I’m currently making a crapload of Jester D-1s.

Does anyone know where hte best place to get wholesale-ish prices on materials?

I have found the BEST way to do it is to mine it yourself. Altho this is usually a crap shoot. It is honestly the best way to avoid those pesky %s.

As far as what the D-1 needs to be created, the only really costly thing is the iron. The mechi and belkar are pretty cheap. Iron is around 140% and is not as common to come by mining in the game.

My recommendation is to mine for lysterium and oil and make a crapload of filters to get skills up. In the armor arena do the TT BP of shins. Iron and Oil. There are really no weapons that are cheap and easy to start off with.

Hope this helps a bit.

Suicide

I agree with Suicide.

  1. Mine for Lysterium and drill for Oil (or go get it at the rig  )

  2. Keep making Basic Filters until your Chance of Success is “Excellent” on the weapon BP you want to make. You may switch to Standard Dampers (III) if your Chance of Success is “Excellent” on these, as they are cheaper to make (lower average market price - 1 Lysterium and 2 Oil).

  3. Start making weapons.

  4. Once the BP hits 100 Quality Rating, auction it and start again !

Mining and drilling for stuff will also help you with Computer, Engineering and Intelligence…

Don’t think like that man, life is good and you should try to make the best out of yours , don’t give up on it

(sorry for the off topic, but I just couldn’t help it lol)

Don’t switch crafting field unless you want to. If you want to only craft weapons, then focus on weapons. If you spread your skill learning other crafting fields , such as component, armor, or tailoring, you will waste peds on things you shouldn’t be skilling on. Since you chose to do weapons and want to do that as part of your career in PE, stick to it and craft the cheapest weapon BP (material and % wise). Get your main skills up too by either fapping or using scanners to increase your intelligence. Scanners and fapping helps increase your computer, dexterity and other skills I forgot that willl help you craft better.

Also remember that the market value of ore is a good indicator to see if crafting a specific BP is cheaper. Crafting with lyst@160% average market value is no longer cheap. So consider the current material prices to determine what BP you will use.

AFAIK - please correct me if I am wrong - Dexterity does not help with crafting. It helps with tailoring, though.

I would second scanning robots for Mechanics, Electronics and Computer if you are willing to spend decay on something.

Agreed.

However, many blueprints with interesting market prices on them are too high level to be efficient with low skills…

One thing to take into consideration is that although faping and scanning builds nice skills, these activities gives no loot or HoF’s. Crafting and mining on the other hand does. So unless you are prepaired to make a comitment of a whole bundle of cash, mining or crafting to build skills it the way to go IMO, making it possible to gradually put some money into the skilling.
Out of the two, mining seems to be the smartest way building the a lot of relevant skills for crafting and also giving you the needed materials.

Cudos to Candyman btw!

GL and may you find lots of bp’s and gems in your crafting loot window!

tailor is still a part of the crafting system, and I assume that it belongs in the same category.

What I meant was, if you concentrate on a single BP that you can get at TT you are, at some point, able to get another BP of either another level or a different one. Using what you got, you can continue on to the next BP.
