Crafting Guidance Requested

Even with the knowledge that crafting is a tough endeavor, I still plan to jump into the profession. There is just something about making items that I can put up for sale and use for my own that is extremely appealing to me.

As I look at the options to me, I wonder what the best course to take when starting up is. Here are the items that I am considering crafting:

-filters…low resource use, but no usability is gained out of the crafting (from the item acquisition standpoint)
-settler shin guards….least resource intensive of the armors to make, but I have no armor technology skill (why is that, I wear armor all the time?)
-jester d-1….a few resources needed, laser weapon technology is my highest skill (shouldn’t they help out CoS?)
-mann mph…about the same as the d-1

So, what do the crafters suggest (hey, I am talking to you!)? Is there an even better option that I am not considering?

I also contemplated this idea…if I go with doing basic components, is it better to go the mechanical or metallurgy route?

Go for basic filters at least until your CoS on other stuff are excellent with QR=1.

About weapons, yes LWT helps but you need high skills to let it have notable effect.

Good luck with crafting.

thanks for the suggestion kjetil.

what timeframe should i expect to get my CoS to excellent?

is it a question of skill level? and if so, around what level of skills will i need to be at?

once my QR is maxed on the filter BP i am using, should i switch to a QR 1 filter BP?

Ehm, you don´t get armor tech from just wearing it. You need to craft armors to get Armor tech! :wise:

well, i get laser weapon tech and blp weapon tech from just shooting those types of weapons.

i thought maybe the same would hold true for armor tech as well. i do wear it in anticipation of different types of damage and then monitor its condition and know when to take it in for repairs.

that’s about what i do with my weapons, i’d say.
