My main goal has been to learn combat enough to defend myself while hunting. Now, I’ve tried short blade, and got over 100 skill in it, then I tried the power fist and gotten around 200 skill in it, and then I tried the Axe 1X0 and gotten around 200 skill in it.
My main concern is not to cause a huge loss as that counts against my mining. So far I’ve noticed that these things wear out VERY quickly and have to be repaired. Now I understand that it’s part of the business model and it pays for the game but it seems a bit much.
Lets take a average mining trip where I have to kill a few mobs lurking over my precious mining claims. I might get a total of about 2 peds loot before my axe (current weapon) is completely broken and needs repair. So far weapons I’ve seen need from 6-9 peds to repair on average with 7 being the mean value. Given that I fight and don’t try to run them into the water/gun turrent; I would have to repair 4-6 times a night.
Now lets say I make 12 peds in those 6 repairs, that still leaves 30 peds unanswered. $3 a day ($90 a month) seems to be a bit much to play a game. Perhaps there is something I’m missing; some trick I’m not seeing? Should I go to ranged weapons? Are they more cost effective?
first off all 200 skill isnt very much and not enough to cost effectivly operate any weapon. but even with skills u will never break even on a huting trip in the long run. Its not possible, the ecomomics make it so the creator off the game earns money (from decay). Most peopel with reaosnable skills geta average of 50- 70% return, not counting decay, when u hunt with ranged guns. Also not included fap and armor decay.
So yes its exspensive, 6 axes a night will cost money.
U coudl try to skill up a litlle on guns, take the opalo tt terminal gun and amp it with a 103 - 105, and hunt snables and other small stuff for a longer period, u ll get nice skills, decent loot (hopefully) and skills. U ll notice yoru return being 50 - 70% of the ammo put in, consider the loss i ndecay as what it is; loss.
funny thign is most players dont count globals an hofs in their averages. 1 hof can change your loss % for a long time. sicne evry global or hof comes out of the loot pool, that means u pay for my hof. if u see a 30 k hof, we all payed for it.
u have to figure out what u are willign to pay for yoru fun and wether your current gamign style is worth that. there is no ultimate golden tip to make u a profitable hunter or miner.
few tips to maybe increase the ffeciency somewhat:
try the opalo and just hunt for litlel while, try north of fort troy, laods of low mobs,
save up your hides and wools and loot, did u knwo animal hide sells for 175% buy out on auction if u have enough? curently thin wools and fine hides also do 110% or bit mroe if u have enough. same goes for paints, 135 for normal , orange 250 - 300%. This should make the returns u get bit better.
there are known mining maps, dotn have the url but someoen will, where areas are with bit better mining chance, (nobody knows how effectiev they are)
if u loose so much on the hutnign of yoru claim, hire someone. Aks a hunetr or soc mate to acompagny u and keep u save, he can keep all huntign loots and u pay him a litlel, that way u loose less.
mine n area s with mob u can handle, armor decay and exsessive fapping cost unnecesary peds ( i forexample only hunt mobs i can kill withotu armor, so i know atrox provider is max, rest will kill me or cost shitload on armor decay)
other occupations: try combining mining with trading maybe, make sure u get good prices for yoru ores and enmatters, u have to realise that every or u sell to a trader l(like me) is 10 loss, a trader always has a profit angle else he wouldnt be trading. so if a trader pays 115% on narc u can be sure u ll get 125 at auction, IF u have enough amount
goodluck and hope u stay in a kick ass game which pe still is to me
