cant login? crashing when you try? look here ;}

ok so here’s the story.
last night i crashed, and it wasnt a normal crash it was a hard crash.
when i tried to login again i couldnt, why? because i crashed constantly when i tried to login, i saw that loading screen and PoooF it crashed.
giving a error “system didnt shut down properly or something like that”

Couldnt login at all for like an hour, happened twice even.
was out mining lost a few claims because of that, a well thats Life ;}

ok. so here is a quick fix that worked for me.

this worked for MY problem, you might have another problem, but this should work anyway,

The easiest:
1: go to install folder and delete your avatars “loginname”.cfg file.
you will have to resett your options in PE if you do that, like key bindings.

The most annoying but its a must for 56kers ;} got high speed? go to ->3:
2: go to install folder and rename the whole data folder to something else
“data97” perhaps, and delet everything else, exept for the folder you just renamed.
Download the install file again (should only be ~1mb)
exept when you have downloaded it and installed it DO NOT update PE yet..
IF you do update,you have to reinstall everything and that wouldnt be that fun for you 56kers,
anyhow go back to install folder and rename your “data97” folder to “data” again,
NOW you can load PE and download the neccessary files for you to launch PE.

3: reinstall everything.

WARNING: if you reinstall PE you will lose your chatt logs. i suggest you save the PE.log and FriendChat.log somewhere else you should be fine.

Final notes: soak your mouse hand in comfy water for a while and let it rest ;} and go play all night long!.

You will not get banned for these, I use these methods all the time :slight_smile:

Also, If you have a CD/DVD Burner, You can copy the entire PE folder to a few CDs or a DVD, and if you need to reinstall, just copy it back from the disc. This is a much faster way to install, and also a must for those 56k’ers that dont want to DL anthing :stuck_out_tongue: In fact, put them on a CD-RW or DVD-RW so you can re-copy the folder after an update :slight_smile:

PE stores no vital game-running information in the registry, so the install will work on any machine :slight_smile:

I crashed the other day in hades and then i crashed everytime i tried to log in… Tested on my laptop with the same results. I asked support to move me and then everything was fine.

Might wanna try that too. They had me moved in like 1 hour. i was amazed!

yeah they are pretty fast when you ask to be moved.

great support! ;}

but on some parts kinda slow.

gruye… they respond to ‘stuck’ on a much higher priority… thats what you do when you need something responded to very quickly.
but dont abuse it, or theyll ban your account for a short period (24, 48, 168 hours, etc) :rolleyes:

thybe… a similar thing has been going on for about a week with me…
if indeed this is the solution, ill be your virtual slave for a week.. :smiley:

yep its much simpler to get support to move your avatar. instead of reinstalling. I had the same problem a few days ago. logged a support request and was up and running again the next day…

i am not clear as to what exactly you are saying here… both things i said will not get you banned… as PE is free to DL and install, as long as you keep it that way… putting an install of PE on a CD or DVD for a backup copy is just the same as reinstalling and redownloading, but much faster…

also about deleting the .cfg files, that does not alter or affect your account or avatar in any way, except reset your settings in the options menu, therefore getting rid of any corrupt values that may have happened…

nothing i said will get you locked or banned, so i do not know what you were tryin to say…
