im also curiousā¦would you recomend a newbie who cant pay to much into the game (well untill i get a job) to use a ranged weapon so he dont have to worry about armour? then if i say get lucky enough from a kill or 2 then i could buy armour from my drops?
ive seen team drops in the uberloot of upto 30000ped which i assume is from the strongest monster in the game?
and would you say it was cheaper to hunt or mine?
Even though with a ranged weapon you will damage the mob before it reaches you, most of the time it will still reach you and start to damage you 
You will want to consider armour as you take on harder mobs, or consider buy a FAP (Fast Aid Pack). At the start of your hunting career if you keep to low level mobs then armour isnt really needed providing you have a FAP to heal with.
If you cant deposit (until you get work) or just dont want to then go sweat mobs until you cant sweat anymore. Make friends, and once you have a nice stock pile of sweat sell it. You tend to be able to get a slightly higher price for sweat if you can sell in larger quantities.
Not all uber loots are from the uber mobs, but most of them would be far out of your level as a newbie. You never know, you could be lucky and get an uber HOF on a snablesnot lol

Well I guess i will let you in on a hunting method iām testing at the moment.
I have been taking some major losses in hunting over the last few months, so iām running extremely short on cash. So iāve started to sweat while i hunt, itās very time consuming but the sweat pays most of my costs and the hunting breaks up the sweating to make it alittle more barable.
I use a Rep 1x0 Axe(Rep 2 too expensive atm) and no armour. I hunt Low lvl mobs such as exa youngs so that i can take a beating and do a little more sweating. As iām near dead i switch to the axe and kill off the mobs.
The best time to sweat is just as the mob comes within sweating range because itās less likely to attack from that distance.
Anyway over the last few days the sweat has covered roughly 90% of my costs and the loots have given me a slight profit. But i would only recomend this technique if you are nearly broke and have tons of time and patience on your hands.

well i do have to admit that this by far is the friendliest community i have come across in my entire time online! most other game forums tend to have ubernoobs that flame and dont like people who ask questions which they see as stupid because they know the answer. and i havent seen none of the
