But no, i doubt you’re cursed, just very unlucky.. What i do is: go out hunting (and DON’T stop hunting, just change area if it’s sucky loot) with atleast 200 ped ammo/round. (more would be better, but weight get’s to high, and i don’t want to leave some gear behind :silly2: ) Go out for 2-3 rounds/night atleast. Then there’s a 50/50 chance for a global/night i’d reckon. I hunt with mk5+a105. medium-semi hard mobs. Doesn’t mean it would work for you however, you need to find your thing so to speak.

On a typical evening I’ll do one or two hunting trips. Each trip I will buy about 350 to 400 peds of ammo (20K laser and 20K BLP medium cells) and repair my guns and armor. I usually do 2 trips, then call it a night. I hunt medium mobs, but sometimes I’ll hunt middle atroxes, armaxes, or others, but I find I get a better return on medium mobs…bigger ones just rape me to death with no-loots (I’ve had 10 in a row no-loots several times, and I think my record was about 18 no-loots in a row). So I typically might spend 500 to 700 peds on ammo and repairs in a 3-hour hunting night. And I’m lucky to get a single global every 5 or 6 hunting nights. So go figure that bad luck out…
Just as avatars can have impossibly good luck, by the same token, I theorize that other avatars have impossibly BAD luck. I have my own ideas HOW these avatars are so “blessed” or “cursed”, I think part of it has to do with if you haven’t put in a lot of money but have taken out a lot. Which is my case (I was one of the better traders in the game a long time ago, before the stupid auctions, but I made most of my money through hard work trading, not from good loots, that’s for darn sure)!
Played since May 2004, had one big loot, 675 allo. Its the only loot I have had over the value of 250 ped, except for a shopkeeper which sold for TT+500, although it didn’t global. So I guess I count as one that hasn’t had an uber hof.
I have a feeling you are using to powerfull weapons on what you hunt.. ML35 or amped mkv is overkill for medium armax/trox..
I only have 1 gun, an Adj Hero, basicly it is a mk2 with silly low decay.. I have owned a ml35,2 urbans,ep40,ep41 and a couple of vat’s.. but none of them gave me loot to cover decay.. only the Adj Hero do that.. Sure I dont put a Trox Dom down before it reach me but thats why I wear armour and have a fap..
I usaly slap on a A103 and bring 20k ammo 3 times every evening.. and usally I have 2-3 globals each night..
Its not the mob’s that kill you, its the decay battle..
I´ve been playing seens 2003 and my higest loot ever was under 300ped.
I dont know how mutch money i have spent on PE but in november alone i transfed 250$
It sucks to hunt in PE. It sucks so mutch that I decited to try mining and that pays better then hunting. atleast for now. I hope that MA knows about the bad loot…

well said! I have to say that Ulv is one of the most “sensible” hunters I know also those skills u now have help I’m SURE of it
I’ve started using just an unamped adj hero, no armour and adj fap, I used to be lucky but it only seemed that way (see links to my 7.5 hofs etc.) the decay I had to cover was insane (having to deposit 1k to cover decay after 2 bad hunts is not something I want to start doing again) , now I hunt with low decay and get low profits.. risk mitigation for me is more important than taking down mobs before they reach me.

My disciple had 2 hofs in first 2 weeks playing,about 1100 ped…
I changed my profession,im a miner now,and yesterday a guy who plays a month got 11000 ped…

unfortunately that is the nature of luck. Because of your vast hunting prowess and time spent actually hunting you might have an 0.1% chance of an ATH, and a noob who goes hunting for the first time might have an 0.01% chance(limited by skills, equipment, experience and the actual time spent hunting). But he still has that 0.01% chance. Think of it as buying 1000 lottery tickets(an analogy for a hardcore hunter) and the guy who buys one(non hardcore). Even though your chance is greater, luck still dictates that the guy with 1 ticket can win.
Sigh, guess we just keep plodding on then in the perpetual hope of hitting it big… if thats what your playing for. I’ve got no expectations of hitting an ATH and quite frankly don’t care if I never do. Its not why I play. I just want to get some nice hofs to cover my losses so I can keep playing, not so I can make a nice fortune on this game

well I had an average of 40% returns for months, lost loads of peds, I just cut down the ammo per run and continue to check my ammo all the time to make sure I’m not shooting my way into debt, change the time you hunt works better for me, the amount of times Ive logged out in disgust at loots loged in a few hours later to find the same spawn give me nice loots and even a gsi
Thats the way I used to hunt, in 100 ped rounds, and I logged all my hunting for tallying. It was a lot easier to see how well or badly I was doing round by round. I guess I should return to this. The only thing is it limits how much I can hunt.

I sometimes think that i’m doing something different when I hunt now than before (when I at least globaled once on every mob I decided to hunt on!) I suspect we have ‘dummy mob spawns’ that you will simply never get good loots on, when I hunted hardcore (at least 3 or 4 800 ped ammo hunts per day) I dont know if I just absorbed these into the number of mobs I killed or if these spawns jsut didnt exist. Either way you cant just go kill all mobs N or troy and expect to profit, you have to guage the loots and move accourdingly
not as easy as it sounds when everywhere you move it just as bad, if this is the case, dont hunt - I feel a few VUs ago you could just go anywhere and use all your ammo with a good chance of better than 60% returns.

Last night a soc mate who never playes and who had no skill came on, bought minign gear , and within 10 minutes 2700 ped iron hof. yes that hurts, but gratz to him, and proof to me that its random and can happen to vets, noobs, high and low skileld players.
