i look at like this to be honest…
Sir James Dyson (Vacuum Cleaner): Dyson went through 5,126 failed prototypes over 15 years to create the first bagless vacuum cleaner. The 5,127th prototype finally worked.
Thomas Edison (Light Bulb): While the exact number is debated, Edison famously stated he did not fail 1,000 times, but rather found 1,000 (or up to 10,000, according to some reports) ways a lightbulb didn’t work before creating a functional one.
