This shouldn’t be allowed and should have bannable offense.
Its “fair trading” and “free market”. You can fight them if you want, and if you win youll get that position. But… we both know how fucked up the situation is.
I guess I’m nieve and ignorant.
Would anyone be so kind as to show me a white rabbit to follow?
Uf, where to start…
Explosive 1/2/3/4 BPs
All UL rings
Not all, but most lucrative UL faps and amps
AUDs and AMDs
Strongboxes
About dozen of components (basic sheet, conductors, springs, etc)
About dozen and half of Ores (belka, caldo, redul, ignis, lyst, iron, etc)
Few enmaters (mager, pearl)
All of animal oils. Some more agressive then others.
Nanocubes. Several people. They usually either cooperate directly o try not to get in the way of each other.
Precious stones are technically also here, but story behind it is complicated and different in nature to the above.
Its not even all.
Writing this… tbh you can add 20 slots per category. There is nothing left to fuck with :ROFLMAO:
I mean, armor does reach the auction in practice, although some folks refrain from listing it for this reason. I would definitely want to address this concern preemptively with broad increases in supply of existing armor before implementing something like a pack deal to avoid the outcome of buyer liquidity for individual armor pieces evaporating, leading to a 7x price entry barrier for a buyer to even start to acquire armor.
We already have a problem with UL weapons, etc., where half of Entropians hate what they perceive to be oversupply and its detrimental impact upon accounts’ investment returns, and half of Entropians hate what they perceive to be undersupply and the entry barrier it imposes upon hunters trying to start acquiring their desired hunting setup. The only solution to this I see which cuts through both of these concerns while also incorporating some much needed organic strategic depth into the system and does not have other fatal flaws ((L)-a-thon theory, etc.) is focusing on item bonuses which lead to situational-optimality of different weapons, i.e., bonuses or other functionality changes based on weather, mob type (animal, robot, etc.), elevation, day/night cycle, etc., so that an uber hunter’s portfolio of weapons are optimal for a wide array of contexts and can hope to accrue value over time, while the entry barrier to acquire any individual weapon can remain accessible.
Armor already has a little bit of this desired property in which the entry price of a piece is more accessible than the value of the set, and we should design to protect this property. Adding bonuses to armor pieces in the same vein as weapons and with greater causal interaction between bonuses of different pieces could also encourage players to mix and match pieces from different sets and further alleviate the concern.
I wish I looted enough for this to impact me..
I’d like to see private orders in the auction. Where I can send the order to someone specific.
It’s frustrating having to align in a time to meet in game. I play sporadically and often find it hard to meet people to buy / sell items..
That should be exactly the criteria for any mod to the auction system imo… to make it easier to trade, particularly at the entry level of the market. If it was practical for one to list even 10P to 50P batches at 2% MU, or fill orders with small lots at precisely the listed price, more people would do it more often. Current barriers to entry at that level are training very bad habits, even in more experienced players.
Yep, I agree. (y)
Thought I would add something to this thread. I really wish they would change the bidding system to the way other auctions, like eBay, work.
Let me explain:
- Say somebody lists an item for 100P open bid. No buy-out.
- If somebody bids 100P exactly, they get the top bid.
- Now, say I want that item and am willing to pay 200P for it.
- I should be able to say my max bid is 200P. But the system only increments the bid by 1P to 101P but keeping my max in the background. I become top bidder.
- If somebody else comes along, sees a 101P bid and says, I’d pay up to 150P for that item.
- The item bid actually shoots up to 151P which is 1P above the previous max bid as the 200P max is still in the background. I remain the max bidder without having to have done anything.
This is exactly how eBay’s bidding system works. What it does is:
- Let’s us set a max bid without immediately having to bid that amount. Would only go that high if somebody else bid against you and drove it up.
- Let you put bids on items with a good chance to win when you cannot be there for the final minutes of the auction.
- Prevents this BS 1-2 hr bid war with increments of 1P every 5mins.
1 more thing - If I am no longer in the bidding on an item, it would be nice to opt out of alerts on that item. I really don’t need to see every single bid on that item until it sells if I was just putting in a Hail Mary bid on day 1.
Hope MA is reading this! Would be a great change. Tx!
Its already implemented. Thats how orders work.
Hmmm… Yes I guess you are right. Just costs you some extra ped I suppose to do this. Like a 7 day order would cover a 7 day auction for a 7P fee. Of course, you can’t Order all items (like Rare Tokens most recently), so this function is a bit limiting. Even regular tokens were a pain to order as you needed a BP to do so. But would work in most situations.
Which reminds me… Please make the Order menu a little less painful. A simple search bar would be welcome.
I’d love to see something like 1 day a month with 0 fees (and you can only list up to 3 items that day) and what that does to the general economy.
This is what is needed 1 auction for entire game no transfer fees.
Also removing the auction limit would be needed or at least double or triple the current auction slots.
Would help other planets but also less time messing about catching buses between planets when these ships should be used for big mobs etc.
I think not having auc fee will disadvantage to much the priv/ms owners and i think paying for a free from time to time is fair to transport your mats
I’ve said it before, and everyone seems to hate my idea ![]()
Free Auction, no fees. 5 slot max for an individual player. Shop owners have their stock listed on the auction automatically, meaning they get LOTS more slots for owning that property.
Planetside delivery free
Any bids for stuff off planet incurs a fee. This fee creates a quest for someone to pick up package on that planet and then deliver it to the other planet, fee goes to the player who does this. Gives taxi drivers and other space ship owners a good quest to use to make some extra ped from their investments.
Having a free auction house means that even a new player with 50 pecs of hides can sell this without penalty, making them feel like that they actually can contribute and make money from the economy. They will feel happy and want to stay longer since they at least ‘feel’ like they are making some profit. This will probably lower prices for most resources overall, and it will likely cause ‘middlemen’ traders to be obsolete. I’m sorry guys, but right now you are just a necessary evil and you would be the casualty of that improvement.
This entire thing will increase value of shops, increase value of space stations, increase profits for every single entropian who actuallly hunts, mines or crafts. Crafters can find materials to craft with easier, shop owners can sell their goods easier. Profits profits profits to everyone. We don’t need to TT or recycle all the littles drips and drabs of stuff as it’s very likely someone will need them now.
With less hides, paints and skins and stuff being TT’d, clothing industries will boom, making being a tailor actually worthwhile again. Every entropian is all of a sudden 100% more fashionable and cool …
More guns will be listed at a time, meaning much MORE choice. Less need to go onto forums like this to buy and trade. It’s tedious and takes us out of the game. We can now do this in game. List an item, they can always DM you to negotiate a lower price, either it then gets relisted or you meet in person to sell. What used to take days to arrange, now can take minutes and is safer since it’s done through the AH without losing thousands of peds in fees.
Saves time, effort, more time playing, more time hunting, crafting and mining. EU makes more profits from us which MORE than makes up for lost fees in the AH. More new players stay as this game becomes fun and gives them an actual CHANCE. More profit, more people around.
Of course, the 1% at the top and the traders will downvote this to oblivion ![]()
Rhay
this is such a fantastic idea!
I want to add something:
- We should be able to add a short comment on sales. I know im asking to much but it will be so fun for crafter/miners/hunters.
Its time for a BUMP ![]()
Maybe just remove the base fee.
Things are moving, we are getting the old bp removed i say we need also an auction rework to allow us to sale more suff
Make it safer too… pls?
