All Americans And Supports Read!

Guess who owns Target?

Dick Forrey of the Vietnam Veterans Association wrote.

"Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud
sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our
spring recognition event. We received the following reply
from the local TARGET management: 'Veterans do not meet our

area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education.’ "

So I’m thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and
veterans in general do not meet their donation criteria,
then something is really wrong at this TARGET store We were
not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just
a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

As a follow-up, I E-mailed the TARGET U.S. corporate
headquarters and their response was the same. That’s their

national policy.
Then I looked into the company further They will not allow

the Marines to collect for ‘Toys for Tots’ at any of their stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would
not allow families of employees who were called up for

active duty to continue their insurance coverage while they were on military service. Then as I dig further, TARGET
is a French-owned corporation.

Now, I’m thinking again. If TARGET cannot support American
Veterans, then why should my family and I support their
stores by spending our hard earned American dollars and
to have their profits sent to France. Without the American
Vets, where would France be today?"

Sincerely,
Dick Forrey

Please send this on to everyone you know to let Target know
how AMERICAN’S feel about their non-support of America and our support of them. Isn’t it amazing how people can forget when we support them

i never understand this? OK American’s and Canadians (i’ll add since i am one) always say that they went to war to fight for our freedom’s. espesially freedom of speach and will.

But then we complain when someone actually uses it? Isn’t everyone entitied to there opionion of write and wrong isn’t that what they fought for?

I say it’s ok for them to not want to support it. But it’s ok for you to not want to support them either…as you also have that right not not agree.

it’s like this realy wierd circle lol

Hm. Yea, I kind of agree with Rex. (I’m an American) I think it’s crappy that a buisness that is booming in America, wouldn’t support the people who help them get that way. However, it’s what the military is fighting for, the right to decide that kind of stuff. I DO support our troops, and I don’t like Target’s decision, but in the end, it is a right they are entitled to.

Threads like this are dynamite, the content is political motivated and can result very quick in a flamefest that make a big wall between the communety.

Political Topics
Relegion
Ethnics
Patriotism

are themes that imho not belong in a project Entropia Forum. I guess MB also closed some topics with such content here very fast.

How about a Moslem complain about a american company who do something bad, how about topics about 3. world countrys wo claim they got exploited by coca cola ? you see if we start talking about such topics we can get fast too far and damage the good climate here.

There are Forums who allow courage and want discussions like this. If someone want to discuss this kind of stuff he should look for the right Forums.

Please dont get me wrong but i have moderated a german game forum for years and know what can happen when you allow this topics. :frowning:

I’m giving this thread an expected lifespan of Thread.SpottedByMB+ 3 secs. :wise:

Does that mean Iraqi companies need to make a donation (oil maybe) to the US since they wouldn’t be where they are today without their ‘help’

Please no political discussions here on EF, we have visitors from all over the world, and yes, also from vietnam and lots of frenchmen, it can easily turn into a verbal battle which we wouldnt like here.
