ā€œThe Howling Mine is set to provide millions of jobs and generate a new economic ecosystem within the metaverse, bridging the gap between virtual and real-world economies.ā€

Did I just read millions of jobs? ?

Sigh, collectively it feels like involving one of the people responsible for the worst-designed and thematically breaking parts of the universe with the ā€˜next stage of space development’ is possibly the worst decision that could have been made. When it felt like MA was starting to get more in touch with the community and making steps in the right direction, it felt like they just slammed the car into reverse.

One thing I’ve very rarely heard in all my time playing the game is ā€˜we need more space lootable pvp (or more space in general)’ - while I don’t doubt that there might be opportunities to be had, there’s still a ton of issues with the game that need addressing first.

A lot of the vision that neverdie has is just not easily translatable into a functional economy for the wider playerbase, essentially providing a Universal Basic Income for players comes at a cost - who will end up paying for that?

Just seems like another case of ā€˜short term gains for long term losses’. Definitely can self-assess I’m highly critical and pessimistic over the announcement, and will be happy to be proven wrong, but it’s not hard to bet against with their current track record.

There is also this part:

This is not an experiment; it’s a proven model. NEVERDIE’s job system, successfully tested over six years on Rocktropia with 50,000+ completed jobs, has become the planet’s most popular mission, demonstrating its scalability and sustainability.

AS RT probably never seen 50.000 peoples ingame ever, it is most likely 50.000 times a mission completed.
Sure, EU playerbase can complete 1 million missions.

Maybe 1 click on a blueprint done counts as one job? ?

If done right it could stimulate the economy. I don’t trust ND to do it right whatsoever. And barely MA. Heck if it’s true that CelesteAI knows us this well I’d like for it to be in charge for designing this thing and making adjustments if it doesn’t live to the hype.
The main thing I like from this is to be finally be able to planet hop, hopefully directly from one planet to another without having to rely on a spaceship.

Yeah… cashgrab and a bit tonedeath.
I guess MA either are not aware or chose to look the other way with all the deliberate exploits that Neverdie added to RT like the 0decay weapons and repeatable quests that where not suppose to be repeatable if you knew the ā€œmistakesā€ he coded in there.

Neverdie is good at starting projects but he really sucks at maintaining them.
I hope MA is prepared to take over and maintain this project as well when Neverdie gets bored again.

Make more ships, saturate warps to kill that job with an asteroid AI job for galactic tp chips… what can go wrong with stimulating the market using this method when no one needs to visit space anymore?

Though that’s going to depend on cost and how it gets implemented. If its 100 ped a teleport - that’ll fall straight on its face. Or have severe limitations, like 90kgs max weight.

That’s probobly cause Neverdie can see in his reports how many times people have done a quest or how many unique avatars have done a mission.
I would not put it past him to bend the numbers a bit for an article… one of his qualities is talking big and selling a product.

Look at it this way. ND has a track record of hmmm let’s put it this way, things not quite going right. With that track record and making various mistakes along the way he can only do better. Generally people learn from their mistakes. So it’s possible he’s learnt lessons from the past and will make another big fat mistake  (joking). Maybe he with the aid of AI/MA and us can make something of this.

@Nanashana presumably ND will pay a set rate for loot that’s needed for teleportation. He will then convert that loot into actual usable teleportation. Hence the people paying for it all will be people wanting to TP from one planet to another.

Dec is not so far away guess we’ll see how this pans out.

ā€œthe Howling Mine will become a key destination for mining unique ores vital to the next evolution of the metaverse economyā€.

New ores, new gear

Intergalactic teleportation - I wonder if it is some kind of Warp technology, or is it some form of Teleportation Chip deluxe?

Concerning The Howling Mine Press Release.

Jon Jacobs came with a proposal to MA he called ā€œthe Howling Mine projectā€. Since MA had planned upgrades to space it seemed fitting to add new attractions in space so Jon’s proposal came at a fitting time. In essence Jon bought the deeds of the howling mine including some graphical changes according to his proposal.

The Press Release was published by Jon as a player of Entropia, not on behalf of MindArk. Mindark has NO control over how Jon promotes the Howling mine to attract new players.

Mindark will consider any proposal it may receive.

Massive Looting opportunities in hunting, mining and crafting. #1 ATH in excess of $50,000 USD

At least he knows how to attract new players, not some dumb ass shit , walk 3 weeks collect all tps, sweat for 2 weeks and then become f2p.
And no, I don’t like space but I am sure others will.

ā€œUpon its launch, players will face space piratesā€

I wonder what’s it about? Sounds like boosting aggression? Are we going deeper into humans against humans?

Can you confirm the following:
Will we actually be able to planet-hop as he claims? I.e like being able to tp from one planet to another.

This exciting gameplay could make space piracy one of the most lucrative virtual professions in the game

This is one of the things that people hate the most in this hame. Add more of it, good idea, yeah, why not make theft of digital assets that by all means should be illegal into one the most ā€œlucrative virtual professionsā€, nothing can go wrong here.
