My point of view
To be quite honest - people like me are the ones that would probably be the main focus of this post (egotistical as it sounds).
- I am a trader in PE.
- I wrecklessly pK with a love for fallen noobs that is unmeasurable.
A few things I’d like to point out though about traders (some of you pointed out but didn’t really consider that OTHER people feel differently)
- Person A works 60 hours per week and wants to sell an item so they can replace it with ‘new improved’ version.
- Person A’s day off is Tuesday.
- Person A could list item on Monday but didn’t have time to get online that day.
- Person B also works 60 hours per week and wants to buy an item that it just so happens person A is selling.
- Person C (myself - or any other trader) knows that Person A is selling and person B is buying.
- Person A and B may not ever be online at same time; however, person C carries the item from A to B - since he/she has time to do so.
- Person C takes a minimal fee for this service.
- A = happy, B = happy, C = happy
Whatever, A B C bs isn’t necessary really but i hope it helps illustrate my point. SOME people want to SELL stuff RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT. OTHERS want to BUY stuff RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT. If someone wanted to sell right then, and there were no traders, they would have to list at low price in auction to sell quickly. In turn if someone wanted to buy stuff right then, and there were no traders, they would have to pay higher than average buyouts. Either way people will whine and moan about traders, but they simply facilitate gameplay - people can get out and PLAY PE since they will have to spend less time in town trying to sell their random stuff that may take weeks to sell (or opposite if buying).
I’d like to also support the statement about making money in PE trading and the comparison to real life currency. I live in USA and have a university education :wise: ; however, I play PE full time and make an above average salary having more fun than anyone that I know doing it. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to have their job be PLAYING? Someone stated that other countries salaries were very low and I have experienced this when talking to many people in PE as well as the real world - $150 in Romania can be a month’s salary from what I’ve heard (above average salary in fact). In the USA, average varies from state to state, but I believe the national average is around $30k give or take $5k (yearly that is). In my area it is around $38k I think, and I still eclipse that for projected monetary gain from PE per year. Now then, can you really fault the people that are trying to avoid difficult physical or mental labor for wanting to make EASY MONEY doing something they LOVE doing?
I trade almost everything in PE, but there is one thing I’d never trade - my love for trading. Is almost as big as my love for pK (not quite though
). So some of you play PE to craft, some to mine, some to hunt, some to pK, and others play to trade. I’m sure that EVERY person that posts here has bought from a trader or sold to a trader and had 1 good experience with traders. The bad apple traders are the only ones that give traders a bad name. Don’t judge an entire group by a few bad individuals.
One last thing before I sign out- those of you with no faith in the PE economy: Wake up and smell the coffee before it is too late! I thought the same damn thing about 3-4 times now, and I have regretted it every time.
Porn Star: *hmmm Prices seem too high, I better not buy that imp fap for 4k (that is 500 ped too much).
Porn Star: *hmmm Prices seem too high, I better not buy that imp fap for 7k
*that is 500 ped too much)
Porn Star: *hmmm … 27k …
Porn Star: *F#@$ I should have bought the damn thing for 2k and now I paid 45.5k (good thinking dumba$$)
Trust me, this economy is cyclic. It will strengthen and weaken a LOT of times. Just roll with the punches. If you do decide to quit though - I’m always buying stuff
. Give me a shout!
Whether you can or you can’t; you’re right.
