1st Space Mining Run -50% return

Hola,

I just wanted to know if its just me or many people face the same thing.

So I went for a mining run - C-Type Asteroids.

Total PED spent was about 400 (Including ~30 PED on the mining laser and oil) and at the end my TT returns was 190 PED (About 75 in Shrapnel, 65 in Tailings and rest were ores).
If I include markup then it will be about 210-220 Max. Haven’t converted tailings yet.

At this point almost everyone starts with 0 mining laser skills and TT laser.
So is there anything else that will amp up the returns?
Upto -15% to -20% I can understand but -50% is worrisome.

Edit: Got a HOF so got breakeven. RoR helped :slight_smile:

Makes sense. But at this rate, I think my deposit will be gone before I reach a good sample size via cycling the returns.

In a sense that is true. But in a way, it looks more like mining extension to space and nothing much. Maybe once stabilized the returns will be equivalent to planet side mining.

You spent about 30 ped on the mining laser. Does that mean you used three of the TT mining lasers altogether? I have not had the chance to check things out for myself yet so I’m interested in whatever info. I can get.

I got good return and when I started I was nearer lvl 9 so that must be due to accrued skills, I also ran a skill pill to speed things up and soon made lvl 10 so I am maxed out

BINGO !! Not a single user asked the right question until i did.

Thats why you lost extra. All the MISS dont count as cost and the peds are lost. Here is really on you beacuase you dont have any mining skill to have it already maxed sorry.

Might be also worth pointing out that you can crit asteroids which reduces ped cost

it doesnt matter with LOOT 2.0 but i kind of agree with one thing. He didnt even killed many asteroids so the sample is a lot smaller so he got lower chance for a decent return.

You killed about 150 mobs. Your sample size is very small. Mathematically long term even at 0/10 hit and crit hit and lv 0 looter, you should be getting mathematically 91% tt return long term (theoretically) due to the 70% efficiency on the tt mining weapon.

Moral of the story, this update isn’t for baby/puny hunters.

Smallest astroid mob in space cost about 2.5 ped to kill(more if not maxed on weapon), much higher than what the noobs are used to spending which is generally .06p to .5p

My man goes out with 400 peds, not maxed on tool and he expects good returns… This is the reason why people need to learn about the game. ?

As Alina says (oh man did I say that?), this is why. Might consider eating a small chip to boost the levels. Far and away cheaper than all the misses you are throwing into funding the bonus pool (along with everything else like overkills).

I am not necessarily looking at 90% TT returns (Good Returns) but at least 60%-70% and definitely not 50% or less (taking into account the non maxed tool since it was a new profession.)

Thanks. Since it is a new profession I thought I just have to grind. Will look into the Chip availability.
