I wonder these myself because I dont think I would give bad reputation to someone just because of opinion difference (as long as its well reasoned and not hateful etc… you get the picture). Also I wouldnt maybe give reputation for amusing posts which doesnt have more benefit to community than general jokes. I guess I see reputation here as “how well this person contributes to the discussion + how credible s/he is”.
I give good rep for the reasons you listed.
I NEVER give some1 a bad rep if I simply disagree with their statements… I disagree often with ppl but I would never hold that against some1
Bad rep I reserve for some1 who is being a flat-out jerk
i only give reputation when someone reminds me about the button. like you got some essi, for starting this ‘reputation begging’ thread. (oh sure, call it what you will. =P)

My Opinion! I find it fun, but no way in hell I’m gonna accept EF’s opinion rating when it comes to players in PE! If someone who barely plays has high rep on EF doesn’t mean I’m gonna go lending out my mod fap to him ingame

I mostly press rep-button for good posts, facts and so on. I havent yet pressed for humor I think, but I dont mind people doing it. Humor is important for a good inviorment I havent pressed for bad rep either so far.
well i thinks its kinda funny someone give you a bad rep over expressing your opinion. I just give them one right back …lol good way to keep things in check

Like usual i give a positive Reputation for this as a well chosen Topic
I total agree with this system & only give reputaion points if the Treat / POST is cool, or realy bad.
By example this treat is a very good one & i give a positive with a statement like “Well Chosen Treat”.
Only i have not given a bad reputation is that i think it is always posible to talk with someone & clear the situation before go in action to discredit the Poster.
What i not like on the system is that the MODs & Admins can put you down a Reputationgrade because to pain you for a bad post or replay. :wise:
I think even this is solved now & i gave even them a positive Reputation after the clearup fof the situation.
A tip to all of you.
Never Reputate someone if you not have a clear mind about his POST, you could pain someone who you just misunderstud :wise:

But- of course- the reputation system here works just as it does irl or in game… it is up to each person to decide what is worth giving and when At least we are all subjected to the same thing… that remains the one fair thing. And MB has wisely limited the amount of times you can give the same person reputation.

Yeah, i agree with that.
Otherwise someone could dump someones Reputation, just because he not like him.
i give good rep for any of the mentioned reasons. have never given bad rep.
my only complaint is that we are all around the low end…so, it is all the murky low leve descriptions just like in the game. i find myself wondering, “is inept better than weak or is it the other way around? where did i put that skill level progression chart again…”
I give good rep to posts with good information, and ones that make me laugh my ass off. The only problem I see is it’s often the same 6 or so people with all the good posts and I always get the “You must spread your reputation around” error when I try to give them more rep.
Bad rep I usually give when someone’s being a bit too extreme/ignorant about something and starting to be rude. But that’s a rare rare rare (rare) occurance on these awesome forums!
Oh and I voted for “It doesnt affects much but its fun”.
