Description:
Entropia Universe was working normally on my system. After Windows Update installed Windows 11 26H2 (OS Build 26300.9457), Entropia stopped launching and showed a Bad Image error.
The error specifically reports:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Entropia Universe\bin64\swresample-6.dll
Error:
Entropia.exe - Bad Image
Error status 0xc0e90002
Expected:
Entropia Universe should launch normally as it did before the Windows update.
Actual:
Entropia fails to launch with the Bad Image error above.
Steps to reproduce:
- Run Windows 11 with Smart App Control enabled.
- Update Windows to Windows 11 26H2 (OS Build 26300.9457).
- Launch Entropia Universe.
- Entropia displays the
swresample-6.dllBad Image error with error code0xc0e90002. - Disable Windows Security → Smart App Control.
- Launch Entropia again.
- Entropia launches successfully.
I tested this specifically because the game was working before the Windows update. After disabling Smart App Control, the game immediately worked again.
Environment:
- Windows 11 Home
- Windows 11 version 26H2
- OS Build 26300.9457
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8265U
- GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620
- RAM: 16 GB
- Intel Graphics Driver: 31.0.101.2145
- Entropia Universe: 19.10.x
- Smart App Control: ON caused the problem / OFF allows the game to launch

Additional information:**
This appears to be related to Windows Smart App Control/Code Integrity rather than a corrupted Entropia installation, because disabling Smart App Control immediately allowed the existing installation to launch.
Could the Entropia team please investigate whether swresample-6.dll is being incorrectly blocked by Smart App Control after Windows 11 26H2?
