I wouldn’t mind but at no point in the past have they claimed the whip is bugged. There is even a support case answer posted on EP which explicitly states that the whip is not bugged!
I haven’t lost anything since I got my whip as a mentor reward, but I feel sorry for all those people who have paid high prices recently. I know some Cobra MEs have been selling for TT+1k and more. This was not a TT+1 or 2 axe here!

I guess ppl should keep their whips to taming get implemented.

Last VU when myself and others complained (Quite vocally) about the precedent set by changing the Stats of the 1x0 axe (Which while obviously a “bug” wasn’t noted in any known bugs list) we said that now MA could do anything they wanted with impunity
Guess what? Here’s another example of it, only this time on another item that lots of folks have or want - and not a cheap one too.
I’m sorry but I think it’s just funny as hell, nowhere was Whip ever mentioned as an item that was bugged or anything - I’m just glad I never bought one like I wanted earlier, maybe I can get one at a decent price now.

I have filed a support case AND sent Marco a PM here asking for a reason why whips were nerfed.
I don’t have the data, but if I am not mistaking I had a minimal damage of 17.3 prior to the VU. Now it’s 6.3. Do the math.
Unlike the axes, this cannot simply be blamed on a database oopsie. All FOUR types of whips had a high minimal damage.
Until I receive a reaction on either of those, I will refrain from commenting further. However, I think it ought to be clear what my feelings are, though.
I noticed that apparently whips were considered bugged. While the Axes that got changed last time arguably were bugged, I fail to see how whips were?
My Cobra ME went from a minimal damage of (i think) 17 to a minimal 0f 6.3. That’s 11 points, and less than half of what it initially was.
I find this unacceptable, to be quite honest. Last time my Axes got nerfed, and I was told to adept. I did, and went for whips. They too, got nerfed.
I can point your attention to a number of items that disproportionally differ from other similar items, if that is what makes them warrant as bugged. Might I point out how fast and efficient Adjusted, Improved and Modified Fast Aid Packs are compared to any other FAPs in game? I thnik they, by the standard you employed so far over the last two VUs clearly are bugged. I expect them to be fixed soon, without prior warning upfront, just as happened with axes and whips.
Balancing things out is perfectly fine with me, but then balance EVERYTHING, and not just the stuff the non-ubers use.
Now I know I most likely will be told to stuff it, but I can assure you that I am far from the only person to feel like this. One way of fixing it is to increase the minimal damage again to a figure less away from 17. Say 10 or 12. But this is just unacceptable. More so since nowhere the whips (nor the axes) were ever marked as “bugged”.

The high min. damage was a bug and not a normal feature. Our mistake was that we did not inform about this bug and did not correct this problem at once. This is regretful. However, the change was needed as it actually affected the economical balance in a bad way. Items such as the adj or mod FAPs are special objects and very rare. That is why their market value is extremely high and also, because of their rarity, they cannot threaten the market economy the same way as the whips did.

I guess this really does mean that when MA fucks you over, you’re only allowed to say thank you, or provide a reacharound. Asking for some lube is definitely out of the question.
