What kind of Whiskey do you recommend for a first-time-drinker then?
I never drink alcohol, so please choose some kind of light version

Light? I don’t think there is such a thing.
Whisky is an aquired taste like most alcohols.
But I recommend Jack Daniel’s of course
Some you will find sweat, or bitter. JD has a nice burn to it which I like, it’s almost spicy do to the charcoal mellowing.

Well, being a Scot, I have to say one of my favourites is a ā€œhalf and halfā€

Thats Whisky and Beer! -

Whisky wise I prefer the Highland Malts to the Islands (too peaty).

However to be honest I don’t drink much whisky during the year as I save it all up for Hogmonay!! :silly:

Incidentally - I visited the Jack Daniels Distillary in Tennessee last year - it’s a great place to visit, I highly recommend it (Though you won’t be getting drunk there! )

:silly: They don’t call Scotch Whisky the Devil’s Drink for nothing you know  - I could never push that on an innocent like yourself!

Jameson is quite mild I think.

You never drink alcohol? I would have suggested that for first time: drink something else and whiskey after that - it tastes a lot better then

Bushmills. Irish whiskey.

BTW, Jamesons is Irish, too.

Actually, I would recommend a higher-value, smoother whiskey for someone trying their first. Check out Bushimills 16-year single malt. It’s a lot smoother than the cheap stuff. (a lot more expensive, too - be warned)

Well, eventhough I don’t drink I’m not that innocent…
But it seems as though I have to go out and try these whiskeys, maybe I would get a taste for it

Well I used too, but don’t like it anymore, so it’s just one drink…

Well being from Nova Scotia Canada if I said anything other then Keiths I would probably find a roiting mob outside my house
