When shall I change weapon?

I´m using a Sollomate Busho now. I´m planing to buy a Sollomate Beauto or a A&P Series Freedom.

But when shall I change weapon? Shall I wait untill my skills is on a certain level or is it ok to change whenever I can afford the new weapon?

Another thing; I´m using Settler Armor today. If I want to upgrade this what shall I buy then?

You shouldn’t use Busho at all. Change it as soon as possible. If you want a similar rifle you can use Jester D-1 with the same ammo burn and more or less the same decay but 1 more damage.

And don’t use Settler. Just like Busho it’s put in TT mostly to lure new players into buying them. Settler armor is not worth wearing, then you are better off without anything. The economy on both items are really bad.

Depending on what you hunt you should get pixie armor (most low end monsters) or goblin armor (snablesnots). Or don’t use any armor at all.

For weapon upgrade I would recommend getting an A101 amp to attach to your Jester D-1 (or Outbacko if you choose the grey color instead of the red). The amp will add damage to your rifle, and boost the damage/pec. It’s never wrong to use an amp.

I agree with most of what Sarah says, however, wouldn’t suggest that you touch an amp - the decay on them is awful! If you want more fire power go for a bigger gun… instead I would suggest that you buy a scope or laser sight which will improve your skill rating on they gun they are attached to. If you need some goblin or pixe armour pieces at TT send me a PM.

I don’t understand why people got the information about decay so wrong. Maybe they are hooked to the thought that MindArk takes all decay as their payout.

You should use an amp if possible. No matter what people tell you. Yes, it has high decay, but you will still pay less for the damage done.

Jester D-1:
8 damage, 2 ammo burn, ~0.02 pec decay.
Total cost per shot 2.02 pec.
Total economy ~3.96 dam/pec

A101:
3 damage, 0 ammo burn, ~0.65 pec decay.
Total cost per shot 0.65 pec.
Total economy ~4.61 dam/pec

Jester D-1 + A101:
11 damage, 2 ammo burn, ~0.67 pec decay.
Total cost per shot 2.67 pec
Total economy ~4.12 dam/pec

If you choose another gun comparable to your D-1 + A101 it’d have to be Sollomate Kangoo or Jester D-2 (both with same stats and 12 damage).

Kangoo/Jester D-2:
12 damage, 3 ammo burn, ~0.06 pec decay.
Total cost per shot 3.06 pec
Total economy ~3.92 dam/pec

With the new info on weapon it’s proven that the amp mimics the weapon’s minimum % of full damage, so the dam/pec on it can be directly used while comparing guns.

I hope the stats above show why you should use D-1 + A101 rather than D-2/Kangoo or other low end guns.

As for the scope and lasers; Don’t use them on low levels. They decay as much for you as for a veteran player, but will give you a lot less skill boost (since it’s a percentual gain).

I agree… use amps where possible UNLESS its overkill for your gun IE dont go amping your adj hero to kill snables

Yes naturally not for overkilling. Two outbackos/Jester D-1 could be used. One amped and one unamped. The unamped to finish a monster without overkilling it.

I hope the posts helped you Al Robbs. Good luck in the future!

Dude, if you were complaining about decay on amps, you must be more noob than I thought :dunce:

dmg/pec for teh win!:silly2:

Indeed amps rock.. another example is a mann mph. 4 damage all by itself. if you add an amp then you can get up to 25 damage all for just 2 ammo and the decay of the amp. an amp turns one of the cheapest and fastest reloading pistols in the game to a decent yet still very inexpensive mid-level pistol
and since a mann mph has a reload of less than 1 second wich means that with an ea-15 you can get slighly more than 25 damage per sec (over 30 i think)
wich means an amped mann mph can practically be a minly line pistol that can compare with up to the likes of ep-33 or m2870.
It can work similer wonders to a carefully chosen carbine such as a jester d-1.
It could help you get much skills cheaply until your ready fore more heavy artillery and then amps come in handy even then
An a105 on my m2875 allows me to take on lots more thingss than i can take on with the 2875 alone.

Ok, Ok enough already Gurkha … I am a noob …you are a Uber   , therefore I am unworthy and shouldn’t post etc etc

Simple fact is that I was warned away from Amps when I joined by players that I respected & I personally found them expensive to run…

Useful post from Sarah corrected my mistake, Nea reminded me to check the guides and charts (check my facts) before I post advice… I learned…will try not make the same mistake again

I agree on the A101 on low level guns. It is a terribly underrated amp. Personally, I love the M2201A1+A101 combo. But, if you are a rifle person you cannot go wrong with Sarah’s suggestions.

Heh, wasn’t meant to sound like that, but if you want to bow down to me…:silly2:

Want to know a lot? just read, read a shit load, on this and the other forum, talk ingame to people who know what they’re talking about, and if different opinions conflict, just ask, people won’t bite your head off:dunce:

okay…maybe a small chomp but heh, it’ll grow back!

next step up from that would be a mann mph/M2201A1+A204:cool:

although a touch on the expensive side:silly2:

But fast reloading and low dmg weapons, such as the mann mph are very effective with an amp, since you get a very high efficiency, due to the fact that the amp has a great impact on it, and quite good dmg per second too

Are Outbackos still around? If you could find one for sale at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend it as the step up from the D1. Certainly, however, until you find something ditch that Brave and get the JesterD1.

As for amps- I also used the 101. As you don’t waste any ammo it’s difficult to go wrong on it :girl: . However, it really does not make a huge impact. The 102 is ok, but I would suggest the 103 for efficiency if you’re willing to step it up a bit. I use the 105 often and must say I’m so addicted to that thing, but that’s b/c when I take out a rifle it’s either an mk2 or FF8 and it needs an extra bit

The outbacko is exactly the same as the Jester D-1, just 0.1 kg lighter

ah I thought it also had 1 or 2 more dmg?
Cool then- stick with the D1 :girl:

I think you meant Kangoo, Svetlana  a little more dmg than D1 and Outbacko.

Thanks for the input!

I´m going to buy Pixie Armor.

But back to my first questian; If I can find a A&P Series Freedom or a Sollomate Beauto is it ok to buy it or shall I spend my PED´s on a D-1 ?

If you just want more power, use D-1 + amp. You could use up to A105 (+16 dam) which is very cheap, or go for A106 (+18 dam). They will both give you better economy on a D-1 than beauto and busho and give you 24/26 total damage.

The beauto has 26 max damage and freedom 34. The D-1 itself is very very cheap. Less than TT+1 and max TT is 4 ped. It’s the amp that will cost, but since you invest in an amp you can upgrade your weapon to any other later, and keep the amp.

I’d probably suggest A105 on the D-1 until you want even more damage than 24. Then I would use the A105 on a larger gun like D-2 or Beauto.
