How does it work, you ask? Simple. If you find yourself out of money, send me a private message. We meet up, and you can pawn your item for 90% of the TT value. In return, you will get a few guarantees:
Your item will remain in my possession for at least 30 days (or one month).
You are free to add my address to your list of contacts when we meet. At any given time during those 30 days you will be able to contact me. Should I not be preoccupied, I shall try and commit to meet up with you in any city on Eudoria with a TP within an hour (obvious exclusive reaons like lag/server down/real-life-emergencies not counted), and show you your collateral to prove I am still looking after it. (Spamming me trying to get me to show you on a daily basis will not be appreciated. I know Iām sexy, but at least donāt be selfish about it. Other people have a right to see me too)
At any time during the 30 day period, you can buy back the item at TT value. The 10% fee is compensation for the service.
Should you wish to extend the period during which the item will remain in my posession, the fee will be 10% more of TT value per month. If this option is used, you will again be allowed to ask me to prove I have your item for the same period.
Why do I use TT value as the main basis in this business? Very simple. I refuse to speculate with other peopleās property. TT value is TT value. THAT is something MA will NEVER change. Market value might change, but TT will remain the same. This also means YOU have some form of security. You will know upfront exactly how much this service is going to cost you. Another safety net would be MA tracking everything.
I will let my reputation on EF speak for itself. The fact I offer you the possibilty to call on me to show you your item should also work for in my favour. I will keep track of each and every deal made in this way, and will surrender the list to MA whenever asked.
If, after the agreed-on period, you have not come up with the money neccessary to buy back your collateral, I DO reserve the right to auction it. One hint? Do not pawn Adj/Imp/Mod Faps if you are not 100% sure you will be able to make good on your promise.

As an extra āinsuranceā, we could agree to make a public announcement stating the item was pawned by you to me for this price at this time (approx). I will accept it with a similar statement.
We can take screenshots of said exchange. When i doubt, MA could easily check logs and verify that this contract was indeed made. Not sure if they would, but they could.

I think its a nice idea and Ive been looking for a kind of pawn shop before myself. However too bad most my stuff is high marketvalue and low TT:dunno:
Update: I was donated an apartment to make a church in. Seeing itās a large apartment, I shall reserve a corner where you can view the stuff you pawned to assure I do still have it in my posession.
Although in principle I think this is an interesting idea I think the problem is that there is not much in game with a high TT (and therefore worth pawning) that does not also have a high market value.
I really think to make this work you would need to take some aspect of market value into account, even if it is only 50% or so.
From a different point of view, is it a good idea to encourage people who are already short of peds to borrow money (which is effectively what pawning is, secured borrowing) to play a gambling game?

i used to collect several sets of armors for further use and keep them cough full repaired in storageā¦ or old faps that i dont use anymore coz i upgradedā¦some ores and enmatter i stored for crafting somedayā¦and so on.
in my opinion there are enough items with moderate TT to get you some peds at all.

Using TT is the best marker as it will not change (since items will not be used). The market value changes and it maybe have been +200 when pawned but is now +800 (just looks at whips) tha means to take it out you gonna have to pay alot more than you put in. Thats no fair and with no āhardā copies of the transaction a less trustworthy sole would take advanateg of this.
Our inventory as been emptied a little. This means two things:
Satisfied customers got their items returned, as promised.
Thereās fresh crispy capital awaiting you if you pawn any items you have left in storage but do not want to get rid off.
How many of you have stuff sitting in storage they do not need or use? Think os all those poor items that you keep around just in case their market value suddenly rockets? At least give them the pleasure of being able to mingle with other items finding themselves in the same position.
If you need PEDs, but donāt have a way to pour more cash in straight away, why not pawn it? You will be guaranteed your item will be there when the paycheck comes in. You will save yourself storage space. And, best of all, we clean your gear too. No more dust!
