My guess is that it’s unlocked at Capable in you’re profstanding, although, that doesn’t mean that you need 2000 in you’re whip skill. It can be unlocked earlier if you have high Weapon Handling, light melee, melee combat, etc…
But I would suggest you to buy a shortblade (Survival 5 ME) and skill up to 1000 in shortblades if you want to unlock it faster.
Some people unlocked “Animal Taming” the very first time they used a whip. Others seem to take much longer. I have about 300 whip skill, and I’ve not unlocked it yet.
I’m hoping that Recoda is wrong and I get it around 1k. 
I wonder who’s the first to unlock a hidden skill in taming… People seem to be skilling like crazy.
I am capable+ in my prof standing. Didn’t unlock anything… maybe need hunting prof and not crafting.

To get a new skill that isn’t useful yet.. are pretty worthless imo.

It’s not really ready yet. The skills are there (Whip and Animal Taming) but the system is not yet completed. Perhaps next VU ?

Naturally I meant the -next- hidden skill. 
I haven’t even unlocked the first one though. Could be the fact that I don’t even own a whip.

Nice! I’m at about 500 whip and still no taming, but my melee skills are quite low otherwise. 
1st person to unlock taming had posted a pic on EP forums somewhere.
My question is… what will taming be used FOR? Riding… or making things attack others?
The latter would rule.
Having a Hyrayuu dragon fleet would also kind of rule.

After the implentation of VU7.0 Marco said on Irc it would come “very soon”.
As usual we can’t really say what “very soon” in terms of MA but still I believe it could be in this VU with a miniupdate, or perhaps they’ll do a mini taming-VU in a week or 2, or less 
Let them rewrite the MF system first,then make em add permanent decay, THEN when all that is done, they should think about getting taming to work
my 2 pecs…

Hm, i don´t really get this. I´ve heard of ppl with like 100 in powerfist and 0 in hg etc. who get´s it at their first hit with a whip?

but perhaps their other melee skills are quite good. And of course hp’s, etc. Powerfist gives me more strength than anything, yet no strength is gained in whip… so the two skills seem to have little if any correlation to one another.
