What’s been killing the myth of Entropia for me is seeing players exploiting the shit out of the game and not getting the perm ban they deserve.
I don’t want anyone to go (especially since you have nowhere to go, the game is unique) and don’t mind people complaining if they feel like that, I understand it and it doesn’t annoy me. It just makes me sad to watch people banging their heads for years against the same fake door drawn on the brick wall.
I think the whole “investment” thing is a delusion of the same kind as newcomers’ “play for free”, only on a greater scale. You perfectly know that nothing that you “possess” in game does really belong to you, nor the items, nor the skills, nor the very confidence that those will worth anything tomorrow. As a tamer you should know that as no one else. Really, just think about it - it’s not about will you ever get taming back or not, it’s about that what you consider “yours” is already not yours for over 3 years. Can such a thing be possible in RL? No. And still you believe in investments. You can play in “investments” but for your own mental health sake should not take it seriously.
Roft rotf roft
If he can play with me with this kind of jokes sure u can do the same but better iz just ignore and think they are the bosses so they are happy but they dont pass from stupidity when avl thread is open to leave comment’s and moderator spam it with shit jokes.
I’m off to bed GL with this …yawn.
My mental health is just fine, it’s a game, a pastime, a small part of my daily life as it is for other players.
My point is, if a company promotes building your avatar in a new world then removing a profession that many people did build isn’t the greatest PR job and to not even bother to compensate or work something out is even further brilliant PR.
The game involves investment both time and money which isn’t delusional it’s a fact and the game isn’t going to go very far without it so to treat people who do invest time and money like this is pretty poor effort and sad reflection on any company.
I have no delusions that any thing i have will be worth anything tomorrow but id like to at least have it to use in the game seeing i put in the effort & money to get it which i think is a pretty fair and simple request or the ability to swap my skills to another profession i use if they aren’t going to give taming back which seems the case from the way they don’t even bother to communicate.
I just enjoy the game and would like to use the things i paid for until then i can’t promote, deposit or anything other than just play the game and see how it proceeds.
but thanks for all your support it’s heartwarming.
The demise of Hostess.

Freedom of speech isn’t same thing as freedom to organize things. ![]()
There is a HUGE difference between these two lines:
Entropia Universe is just a bullshit game.
vs
I think Entropia Universe is just a bullshit game.
Sadly, a lot people don’t understand the difference.
The first line try to state a fact out of a persons personal opinion, regardless of what
something really is.
The second one is based on freedom of speech.
It says what the person think from his/her personal opinion, but it doesn’t state what
something really is… ![]()
Ofc, someone could mean the basics from line two but wright as line one, so always try
to be as clear as possible, less misunderstandings then ( I do the mistake to take it
for granted that people understand all I wright down is from my p.o.v, so I could for
sure be more clear in my posts … :D)
Dunno if it’s been mentioned but an in-game friend of mine Alpha AG Geek organized a sweat strike over the rubber banding problems many years ago. He called for Entropians to do NOTHING but sweat in their OJ’s for one day in order to attempt to be heard and have the rubber banding problems fixed. He was banned. This was BEFORE I started playing but from what I hear it took some chat spamming with team names titled “Free Alpha Geek” before MindArk unlocked his avatar.
So in short… YES. Organizing a strike WILL get that person banned from the game.
On another note… The Hostess workers went on strike recently. The company (who makes Twinkies) told it’s striking workers that if they didn’t go back to work and start production they would shut down the company… Guess what… 18,000 people are now out of jobs as the company filed for bankruptcy… Kinda hard to make any money and pay bills with all thier workers on strike.
So… How do you think it would benefit the playerbase if MindArk lost a bucket load of money because the players stopped spending? MA still have bills to pay.
I think having a group of players to act like spokespersons on behalf of the playerbase would be a good idea under normal circumstances but there are way too many personal agendas for that to work here… (I keep thinking of Mastermesh polluting every thread he could with whines about estate bugs… No offence Mastermesh…)
What WOULD work however, would be MA paying attention to the complaints and suggestions on the forums a little more closely and being a bit more dilligent in trying to solve the problems that frustrate the players so much.
Menace
That has probably been a player request since day 1…
Yup. Auto Industry too.
If what I read was true, the company’s final offer was a 8% cut in pay the first year, a 3% increase in pay the second year, and a 1% increase in pay in the fifth and final year of the contract.
So that means at the end of five years employees would be making 4% less than they do today.
Not only would their pay not keep with inflation, it would go down.
I’m not saying being out of work is a good thing - because it’s not. I’m just saying its really hard to vote for something that will effectively reduce you pay by upwards of 15% over 5 years when inflation is included.
Great posts…
To give an answer to Svarog about this game being unique, yes for now. In a couple of weeks/months: no
Yeah, I’ve heard that someone with money is looking for the old PE coders :). Attempts to create a “better EU” were done before, some of those attempts are still struggling to survive (like Afterworld).
True! But I think EU is struggling as well. I think AW have shown that they are serious with their new graphic engine and an average cost of 0,27 dollar per hour to play. I think that game is pretty thought trough but I myself enjoy EU more eventhough i think AW loot and crafting system is way better than EU. AW is growing, EU is decreasing, its not a fact just what i think.
Imo, there are some big problems/issues when it comes to MA:
-
They are to few in the staff that work with development of the platfom, graphics and features.
But as long as their economy is as it is, no way for them to hire more people. -
They develop stuff to around 60% of what could have been done in features.
Just look at how many things that isn’t fully optimized, and how many “that will be fixed
in the future”.
Once a feature is active, they will not improve it for a long time.
Again, it’s related to amount of people in design-and development team. -
New features must produce revenue stream directly.
They are very strict in development in stuff that just improve gameplay without producing
direct revenue stream, e.g better chat- and messagesystems.
If they only could understand that more people should be more positive towards EU/MA if
the gameplay were more fun, had more advanced features that help players (e.g way more
advanced societysystem, a way to get info from each and every LA and so on), this
will in the end produce more revenue stream/depos.
And again, this is also related to how many that are in the development team. -
Way more communication and interaction with the community.
They should have someone that have a good understanding of how EU and MA works,
and that are active on forums on a daily basis and not just drop in now and then on
their spare time.
Don’t get me wrong here thou’, I do like when MA- and PCABstaff are here, they for sure
could keep doing so, just that when they are way less active people bark at them for being
inactive. If someone who were hired managed all info and were interactive with playerbase,
players would probably be positive, and those in the staff that are here in their spare time can
have their time off from work spent as they want it.
Yep, still same issue… to few in the staff.
There are many more issues that could be solved and at least reduced in amount.
The question is, how to solve it? They for sure need a better economy, and here comes the
playerbase in.
Imo, there are way too few players that can relax and play for fun, without the need
to creat profit, that just use EU as a entertainment they don’t mind paying for.
But to increase the amount of that kind of players, EU need to be more orientated
towards a gameplay that is fun and advanced enough.
How to get there? A development team that produce way more small and advanced useful
features… and for that, they need: Yeap, more staff.
It’s a negative loop until they manage to get both good economy and fun enough gameplay. ![]()
my brain is confused:scratch2::scratch2::scratch2:
Joat good points there.
One thing is true we need more players for more people in dwvelopement team but we must keep the old ones keep playing for better and stronger economy.
From my point of view, the “union leader” would be someone that is by definition against MA, thus against EU, thus against our game assets. He would extrapolate every singe issue and minimize the effort. This would give this game a bad name.
MA has to keep us as clients, if they fuck up too bad, players will leave by themselves. Thus they loose income.
This is the difference with IRL ppl working for a company can sometimes for various reasons not leave their work.
Instead of trying to get a union that is focussed on the negative part, it would be better ta have a “fanclub” that promote EU. If they succeed with that MA would listen much more to those who can bring new potential players in, than a negative one that thread with ‘strikes’ who can scare potential new players away.
no need for more interaction with the community. I sure MA knows what the community wants and its always the same.
Better returns
Fix bugs
More stuff to do
More itemdrops
The problem is that the community knows to much about EU and MA doesnt change anything.
We know almost 100% for sure what mob drops what and which gives better or worse return. We know where to mine and not to mine and what BP to craft and not to craft. how boring isnt that???
why dont MA change that so we dont know so much and have to explore know and then.
