Unconditional loot

I know we have all screamed expletives after going to great efforts to kill a mob only to see the words ‘this creature carried no loot.’

So here is my idea.

Mindark should get rid of all of the lootable hides, wool, bones, etc. Then make it so you have the option of looting the entire corpse. (of course these would be extremely heavy and you couldn’t run around with it) Then create new tools (15 PED each?) and new skills for animal skinning, shearing, taxidermy, cleaning, etc. Then, people could get all of their tailoring materials that way.

This would be good for everybody. No one gets frustrated from lack of loot. Mindark makes money from selling tools. MA could even go as far as to make skins, bones, wool, and such with a trade terminal value of 0, that way people have to use their materials or sell them to someone who will.

That is an excellent idea :yup:

Quick! Contact support and tell them to plonk it in with the next VU

That idea rules! they must do it before i go insane!!!
or wait am i already? anyways they shall do it… they must.

this is a constructive example. everyone wins. MA still gets their cut, from the decay on the gadgets used to get hte skin or wool or whatever from the creature. perhaps reduce the weight of these things a bit.. sometimes you get alot of nonlooters so i guess thatd be alot of weight from a 300 ped ammo hunt =D

That is a very good idea… strill would get no loot but hen it would only be beacuse of skill, would make Anatomy and Biology skill even MORE useful
Not only that the higher electronics and mechanical skill along with a reverse engineering skill to do a similer thing for robots

awesome idea!! i thought of something like that before as well…contact support!! :beerchug:

Excellent idea indeed  +rep

Marco has talked alot about a “Skinning tool”.

Good Idea!

i still think they should replace no loots with sweat tho.

YES

and make nexus as abundant as lyst or oil so the price of ME will go down

anyways, IIRC, SWG has a similar system in place (skinning and getting animal parts from the corpse).

A sort of a “corpse mining” is a nice idea… Number of normally dropping skins,
skulls etc. could be reduced a little to balance the new profession. Naturally
there should be bummers in corpse processing, just like in mining and hunting.

The “no loot” animals are here to stay, they reduce the server load.
The “no loot” animals are no problem to me. Better to concentrate on what
is the profit or loss percentage per hunting trip… and if one is low of peds,
do not expect anything from the hunting. (Well, you can expect to lose
your last peds hehe).

How am I supposed to carry around an Eomon?

maybe if you dont have the skinning tool, and after you loot it it wont disappear for some time so someone else could come along and skin it. or tailorers could come on hunts and skin the animals after others kill it.

also, this would be good for noobs. Instead of going areound killing Daikibas for nothing, they could kill one, then haul it back to PA and sell it to a skinner for 5 pecs (or whatever the market decides the value is). To go hunting larger animals, you would have to know the skill yourself or bring someone with you who does.

Stuffing an atrox n keeping it as a canopener. :tongue2:

You should develop your idea further. For example, should skinners (or
“corpse refiners”) produce some new materials than skins etc.? Or more
of them? Basically, everything you loot or earn here is somehow coming
from players who deposit, so how do you tap the flow of economics into
this? By “tapping” I mean usual human motivators, like collector’s addiction,
struggle for power, desire for getting involved and established and so on.
Those make people to pay…

Also, if a new profession gets incomes, it must be away from some
other professions. Would hunters or tailors lose?

you could maybe have it like runescape, and have a fire making skill and then you could take parts from the animal and maybe use them for a quick heal.

just hope this procedure will not take alot of time. I would’nt love if my hunt took twice the time. did I understand this right?

I guess u have np in carrying Eomon when u are strong enough to actually kill one :wise: and btw. does any1 know if there is more than one Eomon in game?

here is what I think should happen.

1.) I think MA should make everything craftable and get rid of looting items from mobs. (Thus making crafting a slightly more profitable profession)

2.) Anything gained from the corpse (skin, fur, bone, etc) should have a TT value of 0. This way the market decides how much an item is actually worth.

What should happen is that crafters will suddenly become very popular. Items like Daikiba skins will become worth very little while more difficult skins to come by will be more valuable.
