The price on armors are going to rise... (read this!)

A Little intro on me (you dont have to read this!):
Hey everyone, my first post here- but i’ve been on EP for a while and i’ve been playing PE for 2 years, and also played a little bit back in beta. Back in beta, i was a young child and found the game very confusing. Yet I liked the fact how you could make guns, and you could make money on it. Fast forward a few years and im bored of playing starcraft and counter-strike, and I look up PE again. Now I’m addicted and depositing.

Anyways, back on topic.
I feel that the prices of current generation armors are going to start rising soon.
Here’s my main points:

  1. New armors will be released.
  2. Armor drops will decrease.
  3. The prices now dont match the armors.
  4. Stats on armors are going to change and so will the system.

Let’s start off with #1. New armors are going to be released in the future of PE, thats for sure. More armors are going to come out which are going to be worse than the armors now. The armors I believe will cost alot in the near future are armors that are moderately cheap now, like Nemesis, Vigilante, Salamander and Jaguar. They armors have very good stats, yet sell for only 500 to 5000 ped for full suits. New armors are going to come out and those will be the ones looting and being more popular. The current armors will look superior to the new armors coming out, and will increase the price.

Now with #2. As briefly mentioned before, the loots on new generation armors will increase, while the current ones will descrease. For example, Nemesis and Vigilante drops are going to become scarce, yet they will remain to have the godly stats they have now. The rarity on these armors (Nem and Vigi) will cause them to increase in price. Many people dont realise how good these armors are until the prices start to go up. Angel has 31 protection from bots and pvp. Vigilante has 28. They are so close yet not many people realise all this. Alot of people wear Angel in Pvp and survive very well…well someone with Vigi could withstand almost the same a person wearing Angel can.

Im just going to briefly touch on #3. The prices on armors right now are good. I wouldnt say theyre “cheap”, but they’re priced very well. Female Vigi sells for tt+100 and female ghost sells for tt+150 (i have friends who have bought there’s for this price within the last month). You can find nemesis selling for as little as tt+650 to tt+1000 (like it used to). Thats very good. It would be a very wise choice to stock up on these armors now as the prices are low because the prices are going to go sky high in the near future.

On to #4. The stats on the armors are going to change and so will the armor system, just like they changed in this VU. They changed the armor and durability system, plus upgraded some armors like Ghost. They also added a new armor (Gremlin). Expect more of these big changes in the armor department soon. More armors + changes in system + changes in stats, will cause armor prices to start varying. If they were to decrease nemesis loots and add a couple more protection points to it in the next VU, the price of nemesis would double. It all boils down to supply and demand- the demand will increase for nemesis because its good and now its better, but the supply will decrease cuz of less nemesis loots. This will result in the nemesis price rising. With all these new players joining and all these old players quitting- the supply will decrease but the demand will increase.

Something most of you already know… Back in beta, there were alot of shadow loots. It was a good armor, and since there was so much supply, it was very cheap. It sold for the price you would find Rascal selling for now. Look at shadow now- shadow loots are very rare, yet its still very good. This is what I imagine happening with Vigilante and Nemesis. They’re very good armors, they sell for very good prices, and they’re looting pretty often now. Just like it used to be with shadow.

Well I guess that’s all i have to say. Gratz, and thanks to whoever read all that lol. I ask for your comments and concerns, and whether you agree or disagree with me. My advice to you is, stock up- because in 4 years, Vigilante could be selling for 7k. :tongue3:

Those are some very intriguing theories you have. I’ve only been playing seven weeks or so and the fact that shadow armor used to drop as much as some of the other stuff now is kinda mind blowing to me. Makes me glad that I will probably hold onto my current shogun armor for awhile. And a few days ago, my HoF dropped a piece of Nemesis armor, so I can sorta see what you mean. Good thinking.

You make some very good points, but I see a small flaw. MA just changed the stats on the armors to have better decay. Finally, the higher TT armors are actually worth having. They just did this, so they’re not going to turn around and take it away. You say that they will change the stats on armors. If this is the case, then why hold onto Nem or Vigi? Your assuming they won’t change them.

In armor change VU, they didn’t upgrade Ghost. Its never changed, at least no more than the rest with the decay changes. I’ve had Ghost since well before the VU change. I was one of the few, and people were amazed that I was living with the decay. Sure it cost alot to repair, but now my Ghost armor is paying for itself. Its slightly better than Nemesis except in PVP and the price for a full set has skyrocketed.

Regardless, new armors will always be released. MA has to keep the system fresh, or it’ll stagnate and people will get bored. If the latest and greatest armor is 2 years old, its not exactly new anymore. The system changes and we have to change as well. Your also assuming that MA will start to put out crap armors that decay like crazy and have no protection. Gremlin is a new armor and its very popular because it works. Supremacy was crap when it came out because of its decay, but with the VU changes, its a much better armor. Sure, they’ll prolly release some ultra uber armor that only Conner is wearing and everyone will dream about at night, but there will be more that are craftable and more that are within range of the normal folk.

MA’s looking out for their bottom line, but without us, they have no bottom line. They won’t do TOO much to alienate us. They know they’ve got a stable base of users who deposit regularly. Sure, putting folks in pumpkin suits is important, but the attrition rate has got to be high. Some folks have the bank account for this game and others don’t. If they keep putting out crap armors and crap guns, people won’t use them. They know they’ve got to find a happy medium and for the most part, in my 9 months of playing, I think they’ve done a pretty good job.

Anyway, +rep for the theories.

Your analysis seems to hold some truth, but there are holes in your general points…

  1. New armors will be released.
There are only so many armors that can be released until the stats become too similar, and it becomes redundant. If anything, new armors would give similar alternatives to popular armors, and could double the supply for that armor class, decreasing the price.
  2. Armor drops will decrease.
I disagree. With more players coming in (and there definitely will be) MA will increase the drop rates of certain armors, even if not by much. Nemesis and vigilante type armors are a fairly low threat towards unbalancing the economy, and therefore wouldn’t cause much of a change if they inflated the drop rates a bit to accommodate for new players. Armors like shadow and angel, however, are a bit too powerful to increase in number and would cause quite a stir if the drops increased because players who have invested their money in the sets would be screwed over.
  3. The prices now dont match the armors.
This is true in some cases, but you only have other prices to compare them to. Like you stated, its based on supply and demand, and if people are willing to pay the high prices, then that is what the item is worth. If an item keeps cycling through the auction without bids, its a good indicator that there isn’t a high enough demand to be sold at that price. I’m sure you remember when salamander helmets almost stopped dropping altogether, and people were paying 1.5k each for them (I almost bought one myself). There are also certain armors that have good stats but aren’t popular due to their appearance or acceptance, and these will probably gain more demand in the future when people realize this.
  4. Stats on armors are going to change and so will the system.
I highly doubt that MA will go on a stat changing spree with armors, as that is a very sensitive area and people would get extremely upset. Even if you make a certain armor set have better stats, that might make some people who own the set happy, but others who have invested in different sets will become furious. This is partly why they come out with new armor sets, so they can accommodate to new mobs and situations without having to change the items people currently own.

Your points are good considerations to think about and its always good to hear peoples theories, but I think MA will keep the mid level armors at a consistent ratio with the population. Just my 2 cents.

this guy is obviously just trying to score some rep or something. can you name one legit example of someone getting on forum talking about prices going UP? is that in anyones best interest? it doesnt sound like this guy has 2 sets of shadow and 1 set of angel in storage just sitting around.

armor drops are not decreasing, theyve been fairly constant ever since i started playing. ppl get nem and vigi (which have GODLIKE stats haha) all the time. i just looted vigi arms, again, from a trox yesterday. natch, angel and shadow drop less often, so that the market doesnt get hosed too much. although optima just looted shadow thighs.

the price on armor will stay about the same, we have other things to worry about too, like crafting and land areas. this craze jackass is probly just another reseller.

  1. New armors will be released.
    — yes they will 2 crafted sets still to drop

  2. Armor drops will decrease.
    — well no, Ive seen vigi increase (looted 2 parts last week alone)

  3. The prices now dont match the armors.
    — this is not actully true, if a prices does not match an armour it will simply not sell

  4. Stats on armors are going to change and so will the system.
    — yes they already changed and for the better

ok i think i need to buy some armors to resell it

Abit weird this topic is brought as a fact, while its nothing more then a vague theory.

How can you know what the future plans of MA are, unless you are an MA employee? IMO this whole thread is misleading and has no value whatsoever at all.

The new gremlin that has been dropping is actually quite good.
I tested it on an argo and magic beach run and the decay is better then rascal on those mobs (while giving more protection)

I kinda agree, its also a strange 1st post

say, craz3, still begging ppl for lending u armors and weapons?

I agree a strange post. Its like getting your fortune told and they tell you really vague things like you will get into a car accident someday or someone close to you will be hurt in the near future. Well duh :duh: those things are bound to happen. With the recent trends in PE everything is having inflation at the moment. If the community can support it then I think MA will release new stuff. But as stated in another post if they release crap no one will buy it except maybe a collector. I would rather see MA put more time and effort into making the armors they currently have being visually different. (not all but some) On a whole if they keep the current drop rate on much of the better stuff than yeah you betcha prices will rise as the player base goes up.
Maybe in the near future there will be a unique armor drop much like two unique weapons (wasnt there supposed to be more?) Recently Jag armor is dropping the way Nemi used to but in a couple months Jag may slow down and Nemi start up again who knows for sure it just depends on the formulas MA as put in place. Just my :twocents: on the subject.

I said armor drops will decrease in the following years. The drops increased recently and thats why the prices are good and the loots are good. When the armors stop dropping, they become more rare; when they become more rare, they go up in value. I’m just saying that Nemesis and Vigilante are good investments and we are taking them for granted. People made the same mistake back in beta with shadow. I just posted this to see where the community stands on my points of views, and for this thread to be proof for later; then I can say “I told you so!” But it’s okay if no one believes me; If no one invests and follows my advice, It’ll be easier for me to buy armors cheaper and stock up on more. You dont need to slam on me, calling me a noob or a weirdo or implying that I dont own shadow or angel so i cant express my views.
happy holidayshttp://www.mazeguy.net/holiday/santahat.gif

The problem is that you say it WILL happen. You dont have proof for that, so what you mean is you THINK it MIGHT happen.

What if I told you an armor like ghost is about as good as vigi or nemesis, and is CRAFTABLE. So it can be made LIMITLESS.

Ghoul , the counterpart to jaguar and tiger is also craftable.

So, to conclude, as long as these armors are craftable, the price of the other ones(vigi/nem) wont go up, at least not very much. I hope you understand this, and that your whole post is based on a vague theory, and will very likely not become the truth.

As for your ‘told you so’. How about this: If your theory doest become truth, you will give me 1000 PED ok? Thats a very safe bet for you, as you are 100% sure it will happen.

hmm Nemesis was not that great an investment not so long ago the price droped significantly, why do you assume “armors will stop dropping” I dont see anything to support this ?

maybe it was a tipoff that he and his reselling scumbucket friends are going to be jacking prices up themselves… looking on auction last night i noticed some armors to be a bit more expensive than they should be… saw some rascal that would have been like almost +100  all it takes is some stupid kid with rich parents.. and the market can be manipulated quite easily… as PE gets larger… i think its VERY important that some type of “period before reauction” item auction history be implemented… only takes 1 person to really FUBAR the game… guess it just hasnt happened yet… but it will

im not a reseller. i hate it how ml35s are selling for tt+3k and how starkhovs are selling for tt+1-2k and bravos selling for for tt+83. Im just saying what I think will happen. If you guys choose not to believe me, thats okay.
