The Mindark decision to change mining recently

I don’t know if it’s just me and I’m on a downturn but ffs hunting has been like that too. I’m getting torched lately.

well when they start to boot old OS players you will see what’s coming , mean they don’t care about players base anymore only to do their own experiments in game that doesn’t make the game better in future sadly

In a normal healthy market, this would easily correct itself. Miners don’t want to lose money, so prices would go up.

Unfortunately Entropia is dynamic

Yes, Entropia is dynamic, but unfortunately, the people making the decisions are greedy stupid old guys that have no idea how to run this economy and have left the decision making to AI.

A sad state of affairs.

It would be very becoming of you to tell us what the new number is for mining, so we can figure out how much you stole from us with this little stunt, before you launch the mining event i bet you have lined up MA.

“Back in my days” of mining we came to a place where I would make a steady income using the ul amp and doing what was needed to do so. We saw MA rewamp the whole deal to change that. After I came back some years ago I did try and redo mining but it felt so much less structured and way more random, so never really got into it.
The game these days very likely have build in features that adjust for how things are going. I don’t think they pressed any big red button to kill mining, I think we just seeing tangible effects of the slowed down economy. Very few players have any good reason to skill, crafting is very low on numbers and it’s all mellow.
MA and especially Socrates are indeed trying to make so e MU and some incentives. But it’s a hard and heavy wheel to turn.
Carpet bombing with big amps is very unlikely to work, and new ways to do it is very likely the solution. Switching amps, and dry runs might be a solution?
In the end the markup was so low that it was depressing, dialing finds down could create a bit markup, IF there was something to craft that the marked wants….
Some years ago, Toulan got a new amp, but not only was it already a bad design, both cost to click, mu on the material AND then Ma changed the demand for one material

10% tax on mining? where?

They massively lowered the hit rate for mining and thus the returns.

They killed the game when they moved away from botting mayhems.

Also clamping down on botting.

Notice how the MU deep dives then as no one is playing, nothing is needed

Ya I mean space mining + low demand etc makes it barely worth while but at least we could have fun exploring and go off the previous 20 years of trust that the hit rate is 31% with returns 97% medium term. Except there was a deliberate change that made HR <28% and returns 85-90% (90% eventually when you mine enough) that’s it that’s max no chance to get higher from what all big miners combined have seen. Not only that but prices can’t even adjust like ZPF is saying because space mining where you get same mats for ores still and has looter that’ll give normal returns once leveled up so it’s a total sh*tshow now. In other post everyone was testing for 1.5-2 months now and it just is what it is. No word from MA about the change just straight thievery at this point. Hope they revert back and restore some trust.

Everywhere now for 1.5-2 months. If you cycled on planet mining since end of january deduct 10% of your cycle because that’s long gone and ain’t coming back.

“20 years of trust” ? really???

Everything else I agree ?.

When do people say enough is enough, getting bent over by Mindark and having it pushed up just a little further again and again is not my idea of fun.(for others, maybe?)

I jst looked at that hitrate thread, looks normal to me

I don’t know what your grievance with MA is but every time i see you post anywhere its always “yeah they dying” or “yeah see they are liars”. It’s obvious you don’t even play the game so i don’t really understand your obsession with em. You short the stock?

To his point 20 years ago MA were solid as hell. There was no bullshit, no moving the goal post, no introducing new things and then backpedaling to then succumb to popular oppinion. It was like this for a long time. Lately tho they have completly lost their minds and i believe it’s because it’s ran by inexperienced people as this is just showing more and more for the past few years. There is zero long term thinking and it’s like they all suffer from ADD. It’s just jumping from one thing to the next without fleshing anything out and then sticking their head in the sand when confronted or asked about it.

Just to iterate … long term hit rate over years for me was around 2.7, everything seems to be working as it always has

Alright well all i know is that myself and alot of others i know are currently seeing a massive change in results. So if you could share the past 50k drops you did in the other thread that’d be helpful.

What’s your current hitrate?

Its 28%.

What’s your current return rate?

What are you claiming that they changed? That they changed the TT returns specifically for mining?
And they did so recently?

I’m claiming the same thing. They reduced tt returns for mining with the VU in january and never mentioned it.

You’ll have to ask some big miners in game or mine for yourself for a while but the beating is unlike anything ever seen before for everyone. It’s a real thing thats really happening in our not so real world that uses our real hard earned dollars. Abomb isn’t even meaning to be short with you personally just already had 100 people who don’t mine act like it’s a fake thing so don’t take it personal. And tbf it usually is a crying wolf thing when people post this. Well not this time. It is an actual game ending problem and idk how mindark doesn’t see this before implementing.
