So, I’ve been very quiet on the forum for a little while at the moment. I started a part-time job sales job on monday, that has somehow turned into more or less full time. I only intended to 3 hours mon-thur, but I got bitten by the sales bug again.
I kinda have a love hate relationship with sales, I hate the time it takes out of my day, but I love the buzz of a sales room and workin out the pennies I’ve made at the end of the day. It turns out the sales are easier than I thought to make, so the wage I was expectin to make is gonna be way higher, hence doin 6 hours a day instead of 3. It was also nice to see that at day 2, I hit 3rd highest sales out of a team of 25. Blowin my own trumpet, but hey, some-ones gotta!
I’ve been workin all week and I’ll be out giggin all weekend. I’m gonna be knackered I know, but christmas is comin and with 4 kids, its sure damn expensive. Christmas is such a great time, it used to be a bad time for me, but then I met Jo-Ann. Her family has always made a big deal out of christmas, and as she comes from a big family and is used to that, our time is just as great with the kids.
I havnt had much time to play PE. I hadnt played PE for a while until the recent mining madness, and I had to log in and have a shot, but no luck. Infact, I sold pretty much all my avatars stuff to buy bombs, but now thats done, I dont think I’ll be playin till I put more funds in.
Its quite amazin to see some of the Hof’s ingame recently, I mean how awsome must it be for the people gettin those!! Wow!! Gratz to everyone that was fortunate enough.
I just think it would have been nice for the huge ones to be split. I think even a 5k Hof would have had just as much effect if MA had kept it at that level. Infact, I think that if 5k Hof’s had been poppin up all over the place, and there would have been a good few, then more people would be talkin about it, and more would have had a crack at gettin one. That aint me bitter about anyone who got a biggy, (infact if it was me I’de be happy as a pig in shit), thats just my take on it.
Im a tad dissapointed with the Forum atm, and the members, not all I might add. The September competition was set up and all those who took part, took the time to post an idea, and also make a generous donation. Those who had lots of EFD, donated lots, and those who had little, still donated lots! And a full set of armour is there too. But anyway, the vote is on, its been bumped, re-bumped and bumped again(cheers Wolfy), and yet people still cant be arsed to show thier support and vote. I’m not angry pissed, Im dissapointed pissed. So if ya havnt voted, make me smile again and get ya ass over to vote:)
And now for something completely different, as Monty Python would say. DD’s CD came in the post, all the way from accross the Big Pond. First thing I notice before I open it, is the packagin, and by that, the padded envolope it came in. Whoever sent that CD was sendin something they were damn proud of. Nothin was gonna damage the contents before it got to its final destination.(final destination 2 is better than the first btw for anyone who aint seen it)
So, anyway, opens it up, and there it is, in all its glory. Lowlife Superhero’s first album, and a wad of stickers to boot.
The CD design is awsome, completely original. I like that a huge ammount and the booklet is very cool too, carries the theme accross. So, I obviously had to then listen to it. As ever, in my car stereo it goes for on my way to work. Now I gotta be honest, but I wouldnt normally listen to this kinda stuff. But I’m always open to suggestion, and I gotta say, listenin to the album on my way to work was cool.
There’s some great tracks on the CD. The musicianship is as tight as a nuns twat. The nakedness of the music is deffinatly inspiring. To get that much sound out of so few instruments was such an eye opener. DD’s guitar work is deffinatly acomplished. As I play guitar and have done for many years, my ears were firmly fixed to what he was upto. Its easy to overdoo, and play to much, and its also easy to play to little. The balance is spot on. Its also an easy temptation to fill a track with lyrics to try and get a point across as best as possible, however the lyrics are firmly placed in the album and leave plenty to the imagination, nice work.
The only thing I was dissapointed with was that, I wasnt at a gig, listening to it live. They’re the type of band that have to been seen live. I would love to have first heard them in a big bar, gettin drunk. That stage of drunkeness where you get the evil eyes. Where everything is cool, you are the coolest person on the planet and the girl you had your eye on all night is your next target. If DD tours the UK, I’m there, with the boys. If ya aint bought the album, wtf not? Trust me, you aint gonna have anything like it in your collection. There’s only one real way to make it when ya play real instruments and you are not manufactured, and thats to sell something that can’t be bought elsewhere. I think Lowlife Superhero’s gonna do just fine.
Right, its 2am Im off.
P.S. This aint my Diary, its my soapbox.
