I was closing my laptop to get a pen behind it on the desk when I noticed that the white box you enter text on has a watermark that’s invisible while looking at the screen dead on… but by angling the LCD I can clearly see:

I agree it’s very light in colour and hard to see, but i see it from all angles.

I see it fine in both IE and FF on a CRT monitor, maybe you have your brightness turned way up.
Dunno how it looks on flatpanels, as i dont use those.
Could be some of you have the age old problem.
