Back in 2007 I think my first big one was a berycled dominant with 6750 ped and an UL Riker 1.Was travelling by foot to Jason from west and it attacked me.

For the mining its quite the contrary - lyst/oil are usually the most common materials, so higher the chance that your hof/tower will be lyst/oil.
I once hit a small global on one of those pesky mosquitoes⌠Diripi or something.
And once found an esi on a small snable many years ago.
Nothing nearly as crazy as yours.
I did once as complete mining noob, hit a 700-900 Platinum hof, while the mu was at ~500% iirc. That was nice.

was camping swamp camp for one of those 1K noob hofs that popped a few times a week back then and ubers complained about, my main ammo and powerfist finished i spy that king of swamp camp mobs, the berycled old, for some unknown reason i rush forward to beat the other avatars too it while switching to my finisher and tank that great big beast into submission.
to date this loot from 2007 is my biggest hunting hof i have had.

I think i still hold the record for highest loot on a calamusoid female, something like 7400 ped. Sadly i dont have the picture anymore, but if i remember correctly there should be a list of highest loots on mobs around somewhere.
EDIT: apparently these things can now be found on the entropiaplanets wiki, and it was 7545 ped apparently.

Speaking about stupid luck on small mobs will make sense after March-April 2012 when MA cut the loot badly on the small mobs.
My former soc got a 8.5k Argo young in team, and I was in team maybe weeks later for a ~700 one. That was end of 2011. But after mid-2012âŚ
The chirpy one is something out of the ordinary.
I got a 20-25 ped from a puny mob in Thule this year, did not register as a small âglobalâ.
all in all i think i had like 8 merp globals/hofs, biggest around 1200 iirc, dunno for sure
does that count? 
If you hunt small mobs enough then youâll eventually hof, itâs the surprising ones that are interesting

Hunting big game with XT when an armax cow young got it my way, couldnât be bothered changing guns and 1 shot killed it with a crit which got me a 400ped hof

Mining (and I try my best to mine without hunting) when a young corn got in my way and gave me a CLD
My largest hunting loot -ever- was approx 480PED from a Berycled Mature, back in 2005 or something. IIRC.

Yeah. Nowadays if you have your heart set on breaking the 1k threshold, youâd better not waste your time on anything smaller than Atrox.
This one happened to me at the space launch contest.
I was on NI to hunt âBroun Papooâ and after 8 boring days, with the biggest loot of 2.5 ped, itâs happened..1.1k ped on a Broun Papoo Old (30HP).
This HOF brought me the first place on NI contest and a Qaud UL as prise.

I donât have a screenshot and I donât think the tracker recorded it, but I hit a 184ped carabok puny - 10 HP - so I suppose that multiplier was an ath.
ive seen a few people that hit 3K snarks in the past that were hunting formidon or scip near oshiri.

Itâs weird. Iâve often hunted some medium/big mob, for hours without any globals, then shoot a stray mini-mob and hit a global. Happens too often to be pure coincidence it seems.
For instance after shooting a few hundreds Rex at the Naval station, I hit a global from an Allophyl young which I maybe shot 5 of when they got in the way. Has happened a lot.
