Strange Behavior of my Ore Finder

I placed a Probe and Detonate it , finding nothing. I went away around 50 Meters and dropped another Probe and found a Deposit. For my Suprise it was 21 Meters away from my FIRST Probe i dropped and where i found nothing …

This not happen the first Time to me so i started this Thread about it to see if its just me who get it and Irritated by this.

Even the TT Finders have a Minnimum Range of 45 m Radius. I got also Findings around 59 Meters with it. And i dont find a deposit 21 Meters from my Bombing away with the first probe ?!

I’ve noticed this too, and it’s pretty disheartening. When I go mining, I give a lot of space on my inital drops to save probes/bombs. When I find a hit, it’s usually a nice cluster. Recently, however, if the bombs aren’t registering I won’t find anything (which happened all day today), thus giving a HUGE loss. Mining is already hard enough … When you get a miss - you can’t be sure anymore if it really was or not (which just leads to more waste).

This i think is what some miners refer to as skill based misses. It also could have been related to depth. Especially if you where mining in hilly terrain.

There is of course the freak chance that the deposit respawned between the time of the two probes. but that is rather unlikely.

I’ve kinda always thought that thats how skills factored into mining. less skills = less potential to use the FULL range of the finder. kinda makes sense with guns your skills matter to how much dmg you do. Skills gotta factor in somehow into mining like that. although not much point discussing it now since it willchange next month.

Im with Skyrider and Fiona. .. some tweaks have been made to the ‘claim’ detection process.

I can drop a bomb, find nothing, walk 40feet N, drop another bomb, and find a claim 20feet behind me. .. Halfway. .. Why didnt the first bomb find it?

This has been changed without referencing it in the update news..

Also, the Damage-to-armor calculations have been changed without reference.

Argo young used to do 1dmg to my fully repaired armor.. Now they do 2-7 on fully repaired rascal.

This is the kinda stuff we want to see in the content list.. So we can test it/change charts/ update the knowledge bases

It seems MA wants us in the dark.. (which is understandable.. but, not cool.)

That might have been a bug or fluke… Argo youngs still do 1 damage to me in rascal.

drone 01s do 19 damage instead of 22 to rascal now as well. i believe the mob damage has been tweaked, armor protection should be the same.
