I CAN"T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! I quit PE a long time ago and uninstalled the game…now i’m installing the game again…the install tokk 5 seconds…then like usual the updates took a while…the timer says 12 hours now…it started at 21 hours. So i thought to myself…ok i can wait but now there is an error when i get to updating FullDat_760. ark and it says the erroe is " 150 Opening BINARY Mode Data connection Fulldat_760.ark (796911027 bytes)." can someone plz tell me what i need to do if i have all the requirements and i can even play REALLY advanced games like everquest 2 on here…plz i need help…
If the download says 21 hours i dont think you even meet the minimum requirements when it comes to bandwith for a start.
Also, without knowing how long ago you stopped playing PE, I think youll be supprised what kind of hardware you need to run PE well these days..
As to the error..
download the full client instead?
I have a similiar problem with that FullDat_760.ark file. I’ve downloaded it multiple times and it always turns up corrupt. I have a high speed cable modem. The huge file takes about 40 minutes to download. Not bad. However.. always corrupt.
I thought maybe my hard drive was corrupted.. it was older. So I purchase a new 250 gb HD. After installing Windows XP.. updating XP, then downloading the Full_Dat_760.ark I still get the corrupted download.
I set all my security settings low and have done everything right I think.. I have a P4 computer with a gig of ram and a great nvidea graphics card. I just don’t get it! High speed cable modem..
I just wish I hadn’t uninstalled PE in the first place.. I’ve been out of game for almost a week now! Any ideas?
I had a similar problem on an older VU and a full uninstall and reinstall did nothing however if I remeber correctly then I had to use an older NVidia Graphics driver I know MA has meant to have sorted this out but try using an older driver and make sure you have either deleted or renamed PE for a full clean install, if that still dont work whack a support claim in
Trust me.. I’ve tried everything. I even went to the extent of buying a new hard drive! And re-installing Windows. I downloaded PE_6.2.0.exe from the direct FTP site today from work. Hopefully I will be able to install that on my home computer and get back in game!
I have invested a tidy sum of cash into PE and it is increadibly frustrating to not be able to play.
And I have been in contact with support for a week or so now… seems like there is nothing they can do. Is it possible to get PE on a disk? It seems that I am able to download the smaller files - its just the large FullDat_760 that gets me.
Ok… so I downloaded PE_6.2.0.exe from MindArks ftp server. It downloaded fine and it starts up OK at work. So I burned it to a disk and brought it home. When I try to install PE there - it says that the file is corrupt.
So that rules out connection right? Can’t be software because there is nothing on the computer except Windows XP. Can’t be a corrupt hard drive because thats brand new. I’ve never heard of a processor or ram causing this problem…
So that leaves the motherboard? It is fairly new and an Asus. Thats the absolute last thing I can think it would be. I suppose I will go pick one up today. Can the motherboard even cause a problem like this? Why do all other programs work fine.. but the PE installation?
This is not good Is your graphics driver the one listed at the client loader page? Are there funny atmospheric conditions? Sunspots? Are your local football team doing badly and dragging you down with them? Has your pet dog got a cough?? We need you back, we have 3 robot missions going down soon And… wait for it…Dem is back
Ok guys… I went and purchased a new motherboard and got it all installed last night… made sure all the connections were perfect… even Air Dusted the whole thing.
I started to download PE when I left for work today. If I come back and it says file corrupted… I just don’t know what I will do
I put up a good fight trying to get PE working again… even put about $300 into trying to correct possible problems… I’m out of ideas if it doesn’t work this time…

Do you know anyone within a reasonable distance of you, who could copy across the source files and burn them to a disk for you? Could even post them if theyre in the same country. However I don’t know if theyre unique to the inidividual.
On a personal note, I am constantly having trouble with my sound dying on me. I suspect it to be a driver issue, but I can’t find anything wrong. Anyone got some suggestions?
Do you use a router with Demilitarized Zone/gaming mode?
There is a problem that can crop up with NAT routers that consistently mangles a bit of data, a good description of which can be found here. Http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/Torrents_stop_at_99_percent
Hope it helps

I usually download any updates at work, and replace the main PE folder on my home PC. I dont have to install anything. If you try to install then the installer will try to download the game again from MA server.
Try to download the game and the updates at work …use an HDD or burn the main folder on DVD …and do a simple copy-paste on your home PC
