hi all well i have been reading loads here and i thank everyone for the info they have posted so far..
i have a more specific question
i am just starting out in this game.
i looked at the auctions etc and was baffled by the sheer choice of weapons/armour etc thats available.
obviously its gonna be very easy for a noob to make mistakes, buy a weapon thats really usless or expensive to use..
so could some one post some ideas on what melee/pistol/rifle/carb/ armour to use at level 1, when they would move up to summat diffrent and when that would be..( skill level)
ie level 1
melee=
pistol=
rifle=
carb=
armour=
up to level xxx then move to
melee=
pistol=
rifle=
etc etc
im sure that would help many others including myself
I’ll preface by saying I’ve only been around for 2 months.. but I’m starting to feel like a vet, even though I still ask lots of questions.
melee= Sword from the Trade Terminal (TT)
pistol= Pistol from the TT
rifle= Rifle from the TT
carb= Null
armour= From cheapest to best for a beginner… Pixie – Goblin – Rascal
IF you intend to hunt a lot of snablesnots..definitely get Goblin because it offers acid protection.
A few more things.. Pick up a FAP-5 healing kit from the TT. It’s best to start learning how to heal yourself from day 1.
Expect to be using that same equipment for some time.. I’ve maxxed out my Opalo (the rifle from the TT) but am still using it with the addition of an A103 Amp. Oh, and don’t worry about trying to use an Amp until you get some experience under your belt, it would just be wasted decay, IMHO.
Keep reading the boards, never know when someone will pose a question that turns on a light for ya.
thankyou soradin, im readin more on here than i did for last exams lol.. funny how spending real cash focuses yer mind eh
i have all from the noob vendors atm apart from a nice pistol i got for hardly no pennies.. its been my lifesaver so far.
i come from 2 years at swg and one big thing i noticed playing this is theres no one recruiting i/g that i have seen?
last game you couldnt move for people offering the world if u joined em, are there many active guilds in this game or is it more of a solo adventure?

I didi time in SWG as well (years ago, before any of the expansion packs). As well as so many other games over the page 14 years I won’t even try to list them. This is the first place I haven’t seen people hawking for members, but I suppose that’s because there’s really no bonuses to having huge societies here, like there are in many other places. Except for maybe an advantage during a land grab. There is also a cap of 200 members per society, so I think people tend to be picky about their members.
It’s a huge difference here regarding societies. There are many societies, and I think only once have I seen someone recruiting out-loud for them. I belong to one, but it seems we only have 3 active members.. my wife, myself, and one other person, which has me reconsidering it. Beyond that, I’m really not sure how I’d go about picking a society that suits our desires and needs, so I’ll leave that answer for someone who has a bit more (and better) experience.
