Spiders

I heard awhile ago on here that a easy way to kill spiders (the ones tht hit 240 or something) is to stand a bit less than 45 degrees to the left of one and shoot its beak, u then hit something like doubble your usual DMG.

is this true, has it been changed, i have never tried it.

er… what? :computer:

It sounds to vague to tell ya if it works or not..
Dont think it will hitting double ur dmg aint enough for a mob that kills most pple in 1 hit..

hey, tried it last night, it dont hit harder they just seem to not hit you as long as you stand 45 degrees left of them, not sure what shooting at the beak does, did nohing for me. might go out with SOC later and hunt them, got 47 PED loot from tht one

It might not be an exploit. It may be that mobs have weaknesses by design.

all mobs have a weak point, like agros heads and crutch areas or allos leg ect

awww how cute, well if u like to imagine that, what i am to crush u, but my 2 years of hunting experience in PE i can say that, mobs have one hitbox only, it doesn’t matter what part of body u hit :kos:

imagination is nice though

Have to agree with Nea on this one… You can quite easily shoot a mob anywhere in the hitbox…and still hit it. Although, whats really annoying is when you’re shooting at a Feffoid at point blank range… head, chest, “crutch”, legs…anywhere… AND STILL MISS 5-10 shots in a #### row!!! and don’t tell me its lag… if it was moving and I was shooting across its range of movement, then yes…it could be lag… but no… I stand still… Feff standing still (trying to hit me)… and it still happens.

so if i stand 45 degrees of the araneatrox it CANT hit me?

maybe thats why ppl have been getting ara hfs recently that supposed not to be able to kill em

Yeah right
like I believe you would had the time to make that perfect 45 degree angle before it kills you.
But I will test it next time I see a spider

I think everyone should be able to kill them… if you plan carefully… use effective teamwork, or die a lot…

But yeah.. that 45 degree angle is actually more like 90 degrees… UP a cliff face… LOL…

Please don’t be running out in front of our spider hunt to try this out…

Ok Im a noob with only about 1,5year hunting exp but my exp tells me different…aiming at different parts of the mob gives different hitpoints, aiming at the “wrong” places gives consistantly low dmg while aiming at the “right” places gives better dmg. And take into account the radar error/offset so farther off means other place to aim than close by with ranged weapons. As an example aiming at an exarosaur at max range with a d-1 means that I would be aiming at the right hand upper edge. As it gets closer Id aim more to the centre of the mob, also different angles towards the mobs gives different aimpoints and even approaching or fleeing gives different aiming points.
I could be wrong, but with the ammount of low dmg skilling I’ve done I get another conclusion than you Nea.

Higher skills should mean higher lowest and average dmg so the difference should be getting smaller and smaller so maybe you are so highly skilled you cant notice the difference anymore Nea?

Never heard about any dead angles where hitting a mob wont make it attack you tho :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

(Damit I need corrective surgery on my sausage fingers…they keep pressing the wrong keys when I type, ok Im almost at the point of giving up…Mindbuster can you get me a spell checker?)

I do not believe that at this very moment WHERE you hit a mob matters one bit. Try standing dead still when being attacked, and swing your axe. You do not move up or down, you just swing at the mob standing directly in front of you. You will notice your damage results will be the exact same as when you move to different parts of their bodies.

I DO believe MA has things in place for the system you describe. Anatomy must serve some function

I start running for that 45 degree angle. I think i am going to make it onto the Spiders blind side. I trip and stumble past the 44.5 degree mark and the spider whacks me on the arse for 400dmg.

“Sorry mate, no bloody chance your getting me there. I’m too bloody quick for ya and that whack across the arse is for being a naughty boy. Now go back and hunt trox like a good little boy you ar.”

45 degrees was a rough guess, i tested it heaps, i still got hit, and killed, but at some angles i dnt get hit for along time, dnt flame my question…and yes i am cute :stuck_out_tongue:
