Hi guys
I’m have problems downloading the new patch(was slow on the other patches too but as they where small a 5 min wait was nothing), my download speed is not getting above 10kB/s, I have a 8meg adsl connection and have no problem downloading at 750kB/s from good download sites.
was wondering if anyone had any ideas or solutions to fix this?
at the moment i have 5 hours to wait for the new patch:(

I haven’t downloaded update yet, but in the past, if a download from Mindark starts and it is crawling without improvement for 30 seconds, I cancel it, wait about a few minutes and try again.
I’m not sure if this is still true, but they used to have 3 download servers (on separate IP addresses) and 1 of the 3 was stoopid slow.
Did you choose the right connection speed in the client loader options?
Try restarting the download after a system reboot (and reboot modem/router). If that doesn’t work, stop downloading so much rooster porn.
I don’t think the connection speed in the client loader options has anything to do with the speed of downloading updates.

Not sure why is so slow for you, hope it gets better. I’m downloading the patch for the 2nd time because first time it was a corrupted install so had to reinstall client.
There should be really an option to dl updates manualy.:mad:
Download going at >250kB/s, coming from 195.128.241.4 via HTTP download. (I thought the downloads were by FTP before, but I could be losing my mind.)
There are 6 download servers, and you get one of them when the download process starts and looks up the hostname download.entropiauniverse.com. The information is cached by your computer for 5 minutes.
So if you get a slow download, Abort and wait 5 minutes.
The true unix geeks reading this should really appreciate the reverse lookups for the download IPs:

i also have low speed while dl-ing updates. i use 10Mbit connection and i reach less then 2Mbit while upgreading to new vu 
First update today took about 20 to 30 mins, with avg. dl speed around 260 kB/s, the new updates crawls away at about 60 kB/s
will take about 90 mins to get it.
Have canceled it, have rebooted PC, have reconnected, still same speed ( or lack of speed )
