Hey people. I am new at this game, and I were wondering…
I’ve seen some topics in here and a lot of them are about skills and unlocking them. I wanted to be a crafter, and read a topic about it. Then they started talking about skills and stuff. I don’t see the connection.
I am just a bit confused. I hope you understand my question.
Just about everything you do, you can gain experience in it. Crafting means you gain experience in weapons technology, engineering etc. You gain enough of these skills and you unlock Blueprint Comprehension.
The same applies to hunting. You shoot your rifle at a creature and gain skills in Rifle, aim, inflict ranged damage and xXx weapons tech.
You also gain defensive skills such as evade and dodge which then unlock avoidance.
Skills are a representation of your experience in the PE universe. They also comtribute to efficincy and success at using items or blueprints. The higher skilled you the better chance of success.
You can also gain skill bonuses by using advanced technologies. Only god can explain this more as most of who own advanced technologies dont gain sh!t. But I am sure some of the local nerds can enlighten. Mining seems to be the only bonus. You also gains skills from killing challenging creatures. Basically you get nothing from killing low level easy ones.

It sure does. Thanks for the answers, but I’m still not sure about ONE thing. When unlocking a skill, what can that be? Let’s say I’ve been crafting for a long time and that Blueprint one is unlocked, what does it help?
its an additional skill that helps you to master the craft.
BP Comprehension may add a small +% to your chance of success when crafting difficult BPs.
The same goes for most skills. They add to efficientcy.
When hunting, unlocked skills will allow you to do higher average damage thus cutting down on the ammo spent killing a creature. Some unlocked skills are great for building HP. Some like Serendipity give you a second chance on the task at hand.
Each skill should be looked at and the description with it. I havent really seen anything except on EP where you can view the description of unlocked skills.
