Skill Specialisation

Hi

Is it possible to become an expert hunter, miner, and crafter or is it best to concentrate on one?

If I become and expert hunter and get bored, presumably switching to a new career will mean learning skills from scratch.

Will my existing skills from hunting degrade if I don’t keep them up?

Thanks

In PE you learn from every action you do. These actions gives experience points in many skills that you can see when pressing ‘k’.
The different profession use various skills.
Also some skills count for various professions. (Also named as “secondary skills”)
Those skills does not raise equal fast as the primary skills.

Since various professions can use same secondary skills, it means that you don’t start from scratch if you wanna try a new area afterwards.
Rememeber that some professions are more closely linked then others though.

they will ONLY degrade if you put some of them on a chip…but thats your own choice, and not advisable untill you got 1800 levels in a certain skill or more…

better to concentrate in one ? depend, you can be a hunter (Longblades, Shortblabes, Whip, Handgun, Rifle…) and here you can concentrate in one

I also think you can be an expert in any area, or more than one area to be exact. The only 2 things required are time and peds

I, for one, like to vary between the proffesions from time to time. It might bring one up to “uber” skills slower, but at the same time, beeing part of a virtual world, one has the possibility of choosing and varying at the same time.

The decission remains up to you

so which one first…

Thanks for the advice.

I think I will aim in the long run to be good at all of them as I have fallen in love with the game and aim to be here for a long time to come.

Now which one first…?

I think hunting as it will be good for self defence anyway

Bang on target pal!

And if you can afford, use the loot for crafting… and bring some probes when hunting.
