Skill level to weapon/tool map?

I see many people say, you shouldn’t use that until your skill level for it is greater than .

If efficiency with a thing is related to skill levels, has anyone made a chart that maps these things to the available skill levels for efficiency sake?

Particularly I’m interested in Melee, Rifle, Pistol, Fap, and Mining gear.

Thanks!

I don’t believe so but that is a very good idea! I’m sure some numbers could be pulled up using existing charts but it would be interesting to see if someone could pull it off.

This is a guide for laser rifles and pistols plus their attachments that I created. It’s my own personal mehtod, and might seem slow for some people - but it serves me well.

Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! I would be interested to know what criteria you used to map these, and if others agree with them.

Thank you very much for going to the trouble to do this.

BLP, Melee, Fap, Minning gear anyone?

My equipment upgrade method is intended to help increase your firepower on a regular basis, but not to overdo anything. Hence, every 500 levels gained in the primary weapon skill should result in a weapon upgrade, to one that burns one more ammo cell and thus does slightly more damage.

As for the numbers, 500 seemed to be a decent interval that wouldn’t result in overpowered weapons at low skill levels.

Here is an evolution suggested by Dreicc on our French forum ( www.playmmo.com ). It’s quite different than the one of Rain Man but, i’d say that the evolution below is about the same that i’ve been following until recently and it’s been good for me  Though, i think you’d find your own pace depending on the money you want to spend and the kind of fun you want to have.

As for the FAP, it’s not really useful i think. Better to take a look at the chart of GeeKman to see which fap would be better for you depending of which mob you hunt

For melee and mining, sorry but since i’m no miner and no melee user, i can’t help you on that :frowning:

Again Thank both of you! This is good stuff!

I would like to say that I was specifically looking at this request from an efficiency standpoint. Early on in my Melee qualification period (to get initiated by my mentor) I went against others judgment and bought a m2875 and put a A-105 amp on it. I only used it for two things.

1.) Emergencies, e.g., when the mobs spawn and stack up on me and I need to take them out so I don’t die to continue skilling.

2.) When I am bored of skilling flush with PED and just wanted to go burn some ammo, challenge myself, and have some fun blasting whatever I can!

:handgun:

In both cases, I was more concerned with maximum damage and speed (that I could afford of course) then efficiency.

That Fap chart does not map according to skill or mob? Not sure what you meant with that reference there. I have been told by a few very experienced people that have Uber Faps and they say that Fap efficiency also depends on skills, that is except for the MOD fap. Apparently it is the only one not dependant on skill level for some reason.

I’m sorry to hear that, you don’t know what your missing! Want to borrow one of my 1x0 axes or a bomb or two and take it/them for a test drive?

I aint a melee pro but 1x0 and argonouts young/scouts/gatherers is perferct for axe skilling/hunting

If your going for “higher” level creatures you should use a katsuachi sword but I dont remember the name on the best model

That kind of charts arent too common because those are highly debatable things.

And those charts could be useful only as very loose guidelines. The “right gun” is always a combination of skills, hunting style, other equipment/skills, choice of mob, budget etc.

Efficiency isnt strictly related to ammoburn and skills in a way that you would do better % of max damage with low level weapons as far as I know. If you do 65% of max damage with jester, you do same with bigger weapons too I think. Higher skills mean less misses which probably helps most in beginning.

Just an observation: I couldn’t do max dmg with jester d-1/outbacko until I reached marksmanship, When I get RDA Ill test which weapons I can do max dmg with then

I think no one could do the exact max damage with weapons until they changed it some time ago.

Like you would do easily 3.9 with mph but never 4.0. And having MMS around 2k didnt help at all

Yup that’s what i thought too. The change seemed to come a little bit before the last VU. I just started hitting max again. I say again because I sware I used to hit max damage before!

Try to register an account for the Fap chart. You’ll see in your profile that you can enter your interval (corresponding at your minimum heal with a fap5). After that, you’ll be able to stats for each fap (like average heal, different heal value possible, …) computed according to your profile.
You’re right when you say that healing is dependant on skills. But for the Mod Fap, afaik, they work like all other faps

Another thing to consider is that weapons are different, I do a better % of max dmg with my FF8k than with my jmk2 wich is a bit odd since the FF has longer range and higher dmg than the jmk2, so the best way to know which weapon rocks your boat is to try them out.
Also acheiving max dmg with the 1x0 axe doesn’t seem to hapen before 3k longblade, when you should also get martial arts and melee damage assessment, the 1x0 is pretty much unbeatable in economy and power you get with low skills anyways but its good to know, if you think of max dmg as a measurement like with first aid skills and doing max heal with a fap.
Maybe Kjetil and/or geekman could draw some conclusions in parallell and make another chart? Who knows…
