i received my response for my support case today.
2005-04-11 MindArk Support: Hi and thanks for reporting. Unfortunately MindArk is not responsible for the stuff you lost because of bad transaction with an another avatar. It is your own responsability. We will keep one eye open on this avatar and if it still continue give her/him a warning.

I really feel for you silo.
Got scammed once by a so called society m8, its a terrible feeling.
Got same response from support about not getting item back (this was a justifier mk2) but i then found out he racially abused one of my other members who is a good friend, put that in the support case and he’s never been seen again. :laugh:

I believe that they will closely watch this avatar now Silo and will ban them permanently if sufficient evidence exists that they have done this (I do not obviously know exactly how they define “sufficient”).

This is a rather old scam, and it exists for about 3 months for sure. I have seen many noob avatars selling “skills”, and reported that to MA. MA said: “yup, they are there, we know it. So?”
No fun being scammed.

I have an IRL friend that plays the game, that doesnt liek to deposit too much, that plays alot, and needs some extra peds… So i wat i do is i just give him some stuff i dont feel like putting on auction or wait in twin to sell, so he can go sell them for 5-10 peds over what i want and make a profit, liek a job. Ive known him for about 5 years now and he is very reliable and doesnt tell lies and is very truthful.
Today, he had tryed to sell the full tt Fap-50 i had looted a little while back for tt+20. A person by the name of BGHunter The One and Only Gazara had come up to him to him looking to buy the fap. He told him tt+30, when my friend only wanted tt+20.now mind u, im sitting behind him eating pizza and watching tv. so excitly, he says ok, and so the peds r put on the screen. it was a sure deal then all of the sudden he takes the peds of and clicks accept liekt he old bait and switch… Luckly my friend is smart, and didnt get happy enough to jsut give it to him. after seeing this, i headed straight to his leader of his soc Guilty, which was Moonear. I told him the story and how he tryed to scam me, and later he had kicked him.
I will be reporting this person to MA as a warning asking “What happens if they succeed in stealing my stuff”, and hopefully punishment will be taken on him. He is currently part of Ah’s Angels, and continues to roam around possibly scamming. My theory is that he will look for richer, newer people to the game and trick them so when they do report to MA, they will do nothing about it, and when he tells people they wont bieleave him.

both the scammers in my case were in game tonight (my time…hehe). i of course gave them a rash of shit. not too much to impede their ability to play though.
i spent a good bit of time in private chat with PenalaRO. she claims she knows absolutely nothing of what i am speaking of. says she was out fishing last weekend.
i told her to send MA a support case asking for her login history to show she was logged in last week. of course, she says she won’t do that.
PenalaRO and Moarta were selling ore in Twin Peaks and Moarta was selling at Port Atlantis. they seem to be on the level with their ore sales. i doubt they are going to scam in either of those locations for the simple fact that that is where they sell their goods (the goods the get through mining and the scammed ones too i bet).
i asked PenalaRo who could vouch for her. and she gave me a list of people i have never heard of. in and of itself that isn’t surprising. there are over 100k users afterall. here is the list:

this guy monkeyboy35 was in Port Atlantis trying to say he could make your armor always be full condition. how? he says he has a rare brain implant that is a cheat.
yes, this is obviously a scam. he said he needed the armor for 15 seconds and then viola, it will never decay. although he never used the word decay. he was going to make it “unlimited.” and for only 2 ped! what a deal. :rolleyes:
here is a screenie of him saying he will give my armor unlimieted health for 2 ped and that he has a cheat that allows him to do this.

I see this one Hof often but its not the Full Name here.
But i dont see any Reason to Proof if it was her Char or another one on That Char. If a Avatar does something bad its sticked on him even if not the Right Owner did it. Its the owners Responsibilety to prevent anyon else have acess to his Avatar. And This Weekend Fishing Story sounds too fade. I heard this and simillar Storys too often to belive in it anymore

They were selling n00b orange clothes as “special 200+ protection armour” a bargain at 20 PED… but alas, she could not give me it in a trade… I had to give her the money first so that she could make it for me, as this armour was made to order only…
all this was discussed in main chat btw… everyone was howling with laughter and she never even noticed

I know someone whose account was locked.
first he borrowed a pair of black shades and a support case was filed when he wouldn’t return them.
MA said sorry we can’t do anything but be more careful.
However next day someone told me of a pre-gold pistol he had borrowed from a second person, then 600 peds from a third person.
When this was reported MA locked his account in under 2 hours.
As for returning items I would think that if the scammer has sold them on, then it would just get messy for MA to take items from someone who may have bought them quite innocently - or may have sold them on to others etc.
