Question for windows guru's

I have window 2000 pro..not windows milenium.

Is windows 2000 same technologhy as windows XP ?

Thanks

Yes, Win2K and WinXP are both based on the same Kernel which evolved from the NT line of operating systems rather than the 16 bit/DOS heritage of Win98 and Win 98 ME.

windows XP is windows 2000 with som more function , little mutch nice …kernel get som little change ..
not a big deal.

As Bedamax and Etopia said.

imo, WinXP was to Win2000 as WinME was to Win98, nothing but a bunch of useless crap and eyecandy.

Win2000 was the best windows so far, with Win98SE in at second place.

I have configured my XP so it looks and feels as much as win2000 as possible, unfortunatly due to my new DualCore X2 4400+ cpu i had to install SP2 :frowning: , i usually only had SP1 installed.

Im prolly gonna reinstall win2000 if i need to before winVista is out.
I have only tried Vista beta briefly because of lack of drivers for my hardware, but it seemed pretty cool, gonna try it again at a later time or when it’s out of beta.
