Downright better than the game’s current music !
Really, what happened? Why did MA decide to change the music when so many of us agree that it was better before? After listening to both YouTube videos, I can confirm that I much prefer the original version.
The only link I found was the SoundCloud one by scrolling back through the discussion (I’m not very familiar with SoundCloud), but I couldn’t find any download links for the tracks under the videos. On YouTube, I only found a roughly two-hour compilation with all the music mixed together, so I couldn’t identify the title of each track or the name of the composer.
There is a OneDrive link in the text. The YouTube video embedded in the bottom of the main post is soundtrack from DSEC. Maybe you refer to someone posted the old music that is on YouTube as well. That is fine to listen to, it’s just if you want the single tracks in files you can download them here
It’s done—I found the files and managed to download everything by tracing the discussion thread back to your first post from June 2015.
As for the rest, I don’t understand why MA removed that soundtrack instead of enriching and supplementing it with the current playlist. Who composed the original music? Is it still the same person, or has the artist changed ?
Lars Falk is the original creator. He was a part of the dev team as far as I remember, so I think they own the rights.
They changed it just to change it I think.
I’ve been trying to make DSEC soundtrack so it’s still its own, but there is traces back to his soundtrack, even small samples from it, hidden in some of the tracks.
As you can imagine, I always been a big fan of his music in PE. It’s influenced me a lot in how i think my music.
