Press release regarding synths

Thoughts?

I personally based on the descriptions see a lot of issues, straight up I can think of plenty of ways to exploit them. Furthermore they will be interacting in the economy without any consequences going as far as P2P trades with made up money. I don’t trust mindark one bit on that part seeing earlier actions.

Other issues I see is that they will probably hand out stuff to new players that we pay for (based on recent actions) but main issue will be that our overall markup will go down as we will compete with MindArk on high markup drops. They are actively destroying the economy.

I hope this idea goes away as fast as the blueprint compensation. I can only see downsides to it. Rather than developing a product that we want to recommend to others they will create faked activity. Our insight into player numbers will also disappear thanks to this.

It starts out by discussing the community and then goes on about how they plan on destroying it.

Bare minimum I hope they are easily distinguished from normal players. AI NPCs are broken and now it is going to be full time “players”.

that will be… interesting…

AI players, what can go wrong

Forcing us to lose money until we are 100 looter and 95 eff? Maybe it is an attempt on raising prices of gear since we can no longer enjoy 106% average markup with our morning coffee?

Spawns in game are in general too small already and now there will be this…

Transparency will be needed on how they are set up. What budget they operate on, what happens if budget runs out, what are their capabilities and limitations. How much are they going to play per day. How are the AI skills and tools set up, that would be interesting to read.

Isn’t the AI context going to get very expensive for the little value they add to the game?

The best value for the community would be that these act as the neede MA players to play the game so they collect feedback, use as QA and help cut down on bugs for each VU.

We always asked MA to bring more players t the game, I hope these are not the new players we asked for, right? :ROFLMAO:

I hope MA realizes this for us players sounds utterly ridiculous…

Hej AI

if there is any respect for the remaining playerbase, please provide clear transparency about these synths because this press release is really upsetting a lot of players

[HEADING=1]What Synths can do at launch[/HEADING]
At launch, Synths will be able to:

● Explore and learn their environment

● Socialize and chat with players

● Hunt

● Heal themselves and others

● Use trade and repair terminals

● Receive gifts

● Follow or tag along with players

● Emote

● Read and participate in local chat

● Participate in the economy through limited initial systems

Maybe it’s best to focus on attracting real players instead.

The last point is what’s gonna screw the game over.

At best it will be a shit show, at worst EU goes poof

Great comment there, right in the OP.

We’ve already had the problems of two (or multiple) tiers for quite some time. It hasn’t apparently mattered (enough) to MA that we’ve got alts and bots playing at an advantage; now, synths can play 24/7, discover and overrun niches etc etc as well. Time will not be of importance to them, while it is to us.

The only short-term positive is maybe contributing to deed/share revenues, but what is the point when the real players get squeezed into lower and lower turnovers? I’ve spent the past month fishing at a max of around 10 peds turnover (TT) per hour, although more considering mu. Even so… it’s pitiful, and I’m surely not the only one.

Maybe synths will even muscle in on that because it’s new, but it depends I guess on what skills they are given to begin with etc etc.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!

Where is Rick Deckard when you need him…? ?

I’ve been asked to clarify a few things here:

Synths will not operate with “made up money”, but will have the same conditions as regular players.

They are not being introduced in a way that would give them any sort of unfair economic advantage, and will have to figure things out themselves.

Only a handful will be introduced at first, operating on a very small microscale, so we can monitor how they behave, how they interact with the world, and whether any safeguards need to be adjusted.

This is not a system being rolled out to compete with players on high markup drops or to manipulate the economy. The initial scope is deliberately limited and controlled.

Concerns and feedback are of course welcome, but we ask that it is please kept constructive.

Will they start with an empty ped card as F2P? Because unless your CEO deposits into their accounts the money is just added from nowhere. If they trade as suggested they will in fact manipulate the market.

How can you assure they will never compete for drops? Foul and berycled are mobs with decent markup for new players, are you saying they won’t hunt these? Since loot works as it does more activity means lower markup. This can easily be seen by hunting during peak hours and during low activity hours.

Just off the top off my head, i give allot of ped to MA shipping items from auction when i am using the transport fee, guess that and a few more ways MA will be able to put PED into these Synths.

so if they introducing bots in game now governed by MA
does that mean boting is now allowed?

Those fees are supposed to go to cargo missions which we still are waiting for.

Doubt that PED was locked up in a safe waiting for cargo missions to be introduced.

Nice that you introduce AI-players. The first synth I encounter I will tell it how lootable pvp has very rare resources then guide it how to buy and use a toxic shot. Then I will escort it to the closest lootable zone
