Petition to Eliminate/Fix Pupugis

I’ve made a decision to hunt at the Trax Shack for a month straight, and see what kind of results I come up with, using the same gear and the same ammo amount each trip.

I’ve been having great results, but there is one thing bothering me…

https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/gallery/files/9/1/4/pupugi.jpg

Normaly, when one of these little bastards decides to attack me, I just run to the nearest water source and drown it. This is my usual course of action, only because it is nearly impossible (as far as I can tell) to kill these wonderful creations.

It seems recently, that the little pests have gotten “smart”. I try to run them into the water, and they fly of in random directions, away from the water source.

I just logged in a few minutes ago, killed a few Trax, and as usual a Pupugi attacks me. I did my usual routine, ran to a water hole, and jumped in. This time, the little piece of ass crustation just sits there and continues to hit me, decaying the fsck out of my freshly repaired armor.

I start wondering, Maybe the water isn’t deep enough, so I pan out to check, and both myself and the Pupugi are completely submerged in the pond.

I hate to put it this way, but the only people this little bug (pun intended) benefit is MA. They need to be gotten rid of, or MA needs to make it so they can be drowned or killed.

Adapt. That’s the way to go. I’ve found them much easier to kill with melee-weapon, so get an axe and slay them. Yes they are hard to kill, but that’s the most economical way I’ve found.

or in the next VU we’ll se some sort of bugg-spray costin 100PED

I vote for neather of the options I like the little fellas
I think they are good as they are.. even if they are annoying the whole planet of calypso…

I hear adjusted cannon is the best weapon to fight these monsters

Ya saw my first one South of troy last night, actually shouldn’t say saw, he hit me 4 hits even before I could see what it has this little red dot came ripping onto the radar , I did the same ran into the river and he took off and i came out and right back at me again so i dived in and sat at the bottom decidied to stay there for a bit and mined the bottom of the river for like 30min til i figured it was safe luckily I found lots of average deposits of cal. So the little beast scooted me in the right direction lol. I still think they should drown just like the swamp east of Port I lay down in the water when swarmed by Igni and hope they all drow before I die. I waste more Axe on those things then anything

those who dont adapt become a victim of evolution

Goddam little bastards :cussing: I say MA create Uzis so we can “spray” the area

Yes indeedy… little bugs annoy the hell out of me

Limited use though. Probably about 25-50 sprays maybe? Then you have to refill them for 20 ped.

I voted for fixing them so they can be killed. Doesnt make any sense that in a game/virtual universe where killing is a main goal, they are relatively immune to death. My decay and ammo use cost vs the loots is getting rediculas as it is.

The same goes for trapped mobs…you cant hurt them…but they sure as hell can hurt you !

This poll is not complete. It needs

“keep them the same, they add variation and depth to the game… but maybe slow them down just a little bit ;)”

Ya I quite agree. Sry Phobs but I don’t have a huge problem with them. If I did, then I probably would pick another hunting spot. But certainly, I think it’s been discussed b4 on forums that the game would be more interesting and dynamic if a few mobs were actually insects that could give out poison or something… in other words, a mob that isn’t necessarily the biggest beast of them all but can still be a pest as in real life… I think the pupugis are the closest thing we have to that atm. :girl:
Just my :twocents: as always.

My vote would be do not change them. But, since that option does not exist…

I didn’t have any problem killing these… spot it, aim a little bit in front and down of where it is (supposing its coming towards you), and shoot… 1 shot. Dead. They are a pain though, and I have never had any loot from any of them. They should carry mod Shadow Armour.

haha, the poll was more of a joke than anything, I was mainly concerned about telling people how much they annoy me :silly2:

i voted make em able to be killed.. (like slow em down a littlebit and make em at least somewhat predictable) i dont think any mob no matter how annoying should be entirely removed

now that we have hairspray on calypso it is a pitty you cant use that on them.. after all hairspray works well on all orts of earthly insects both flying and not.
(hairspray or cooking oil in a fine mist works well as a AAA weapon against flying insects  )

those bugs are straight up irritating now that they fly around so much that they cannot be shot. The only way i have been able to get them off me is to run into the water, cause they dont like it and they will fly away but not far. These places where these bugs are dont have much water.

I think they should go back to the old ways and make it so they can stay still long enough so they can be shot!!!

Gives ya a new thought of the expression “Spray n’ pray” don’t it

I cant belive that nobody of you didnt find the way to kill them easy
I had that problem with my socm8 too,but we stuck for a while there and wanted too see what loot they drop. After tons of ammo spend, and none killed,we tryed something else.1 would take 5-10 on himself and the otherone would shoot
The suprise was that if you had more of them attacking you, they stand still!!!
Only problem was that the decay of fap/armor couldnt measure with the loot.
If you wanna hunt them ,just tag more of them and the will be still :wise:

Those little bastards  Once we had a team of 5-6 ppl and we met this wonderful thingie  and it took more then a minute for us all to kill it :silly2:
