not written down yet but i will even today if i’ll play
funny part is i’m usualy hunting as a team with my wife… and we’re gettin perception on the same mob (though she has different skills from mine).. so we either get both perception or neither
actually… i’ve notice the perception/no loot corelation and now when i get perception and some good loot i actualy remember… and after a hunt i do statistics
edit:
as for the crap-loot skill… yeah that would be nice if it said… from now on for half hour u’ll get crap loot… but i did get a 859 ped hof on a mob after getting perception on another…
Its all in your head dude, skills doesnt matter when looting.Just look at hoflist and see all the people with barely 1/10th of your skill looting 600+ on chickens and cournundacaudas. I dont actually know if perception helps in any skill, just as I doubt marksmanship is useful to anything since all the nerfs in aiming/hitting makes me miss more now than when I was a n00b

So is there really no point in Perception skill? no point at all? it doesn’t help at anythin?
what other useless skills can people buy?
what good are these: bravado, alertness, courage…?
Perception helps enormously when using Hides for crafting just ask Starman. I have many k worth of this skill and it’s very hard to gain at high leveles. As for loot it means squat!
the top part of the page contains skills listed out. the bottom part has activites and the associated skills that are used in those activities grouped.
perception is used in combat attacks, among other things.
a good general rule of thumb is that whatever you are doing when you see the increase is something that the skill aids you in doing.
pretty obvious IMO.
so, have any of you ever received a perception increase after looting? i haven’t and so i doubt that it is a factor in what loot you get.
just like i have never seen a perception increase while crafting. which means it doesn’t factor into crafting either.
Mining ? (rumors coming from many miners including Silver di Avlo, I don’t feel like it’s true though )
Drilling ? (same)
I don’t know if it helps with hunting, but I don’t think so. Although I had plenty of Perception skillgains on my axe hunter, I only had few decent loots… And none after these skillgains (or next to )…
I agree, but it doesn’t mean unrelated or rare skills don’t help, either… !
You can be 100% sure that it greatly helps with a skill in which Perception skillgains are pretty rare or not even supposed to exist

don’t you get skill gains in this game by doing? i thought that was the case. i guess if it is not the case then there is no rhyme or reason to how skills are gained.
I am noob in mining, but i noticed that u get Perception when hiting something as u get Prospecting or Geology, so it might have a relation with getting or not getting something back, at least regarding mining.
