PE Keeps Crashing!

I am fairly new to PE (just started last night). After a few minutes of playing the game crashes and I get an error:

Project Entropia did not shut down normally.
You may submit information about your PC configuration to MindArk.
This will help MindArk to improve Project Entropia in future updates.
The information that will be sent if you accept is:
OS = Windows XP
Memory = 1024
Graphics Adapter = NVIDIA GeForce 6800
Graphics Adapter Driver Version = 6.14.10.6693
Sound Card = SB Live! Audio [9400]
Sound Card Driver Version = 5.12.1.252
Exception Address = 1262703955
PE Version = 352321799

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? It is very annoying. :frowning:

Well I started thinking it may be my router. Does anyone know what ports PE uses? I want to set it on the port forwarding on my router. :wise:

definitly not router!
must be a software prob.

some avatars have the same problems in our SOC.

no system changes, no updates (only PE Update), no other crashes…
the Client starts correctly, after you insert Login and Passwort, the error appears… isn’t it?

It does it on my PC too, but quite seldom. I usually get it when they had an update on and I beggin playing. I usually hit ok and send the error report to them. It seems not to be repeating after this.

I think you might not have the latest Graphics driver installed. On http://www.project-entropia.com/download/Index.ajp it says that you need version 7772, and it has the link to the driver download page. Try that first.

This happened to me a great deal before I updated my drivers for my vid card. :slight_smile: It hasn’t occured since then, so hopefully it may be your problem as well. Hope the problem clears up for ya. :cool:

I find PE crashes quite a lot on me if I have an extended conversation whilst in the trade window

And also sometimes when i log out i get the blue screen of death from windows and the machine reboots itself

Only since vu 8+ i think dont know whether anyone else has same problems?

This used to happen to me all the time and was very frustrating, I sent a support case to MA but not much help, After I updated my GFX drivers to the latest (ATI) I no longer get the crashing and PE runs a treat.

Ensure you have the latest drivers for your GFX card as mentioned above.

After the mini patch, I have had my first 2 CTDs ever…I think something is not happy about the latest minipatch.

It happens alot in the most inconvenient places lol

its a software problem.

Its not your cpu/gfx card/memory/HDD etc

just unlucky to get one i guess

mostly i have it around somewhat more busy places, still running without lag tho =P i have an uber pc so that isnt the problem

DarK_AssassiN, I get that happening all the time to :frowning: Maybe updating graphics drivers will help but if your graphics card is quite old like mine then unfortunatly the newer drivers arnt any help :confused:

Yep I get the crashes while in trade to =( and sometimes I get it where PE just locks up and I cant alt+tab or anything and I just gotta hit the reboot button.

Fortunatly I dont get the BSOD. Maybe next VU :cool:

I had a lot of issues with PE crashing or hanging on me last night after the latest update. Couldn’t open Storage or TT without PE causing an endless wait for it to completely open.
