i take this as a maintenance thread for my link collection.
once i have gathered more usefull info from several forums, i may outsource the collection from EP anyways. i have been thinking about this since a while now.
maybe to a neutral spot. i dont know yet.
i guess it wouldnt be fair to redirect all newcomers of this forum to EP, when they see all good links are from there.

Whilst linking to other sites including EP is fine, a list like that you posted is not acceptable, it’s like steering newcomers away from this site.
That list is mostly about posts on EP, posts that we would like to create ourselfes here on EF, no offense to EP at all, but posting that list to every newcomer here is like telling them to go to EP instead.
I’m sorry, but i have to disallow posting that list here, in my opinion it’s much better for newcomers to get answers straigth from other players, instead of some non-personal list of links.
Ofcourse single links to charts and the like are fine, but completely “spamming” a non-personal list of links we would rather be without.
Im sure you are doing it with best intentions, but this is not the place for it, atleast not until we have grown some more.

sadly i got no response so far beside a Mod PM that didnt hit the tone for my taste…
overall, a “how about doing it this or that way” would have helped me more than a plain No-no…

i didnt expect to stumble into a struggle for competence between EF and EP here, and dont want to participate in it. i guess i better end my way to help newcomers here.

I am a member of both forums as the most of us - that were longer in this business 
I think each forum should have its own style and personality therefore a great link exchangement is not the best idea. Orions link list is a very good one and i am sure that sooner or later a similary list will be available too in this forum.
An here comes a idea - not profen if it already exist:
It is possible to have an automatic link list with all stickified threads because a stickyfied thread normally has a great impact to the general knowledge of the community.

I responded to Orion in a polite manner because I know he was only trying to help by sharing his knowledge with the new board.
The link list was a generous offer from Orion and meant as a gift to the forum rather than an attempt to poach newbies.
The majority of us started on E-P and let’s face it… didn’t most of us use that list?? I know I did. :yup:
I was only saying that it would benefit this forum if Orion could compile something like a knowledge database for here also rather than link to another forum as we’d like our newbie members to be able to find all the info they need in starting out in PE right on their own doorstep (so to speak).
I for one would like to apologise to Orion for starting off what others may have seen as a negative response. I hope you accept my apology… it wasnt meant to offend

Well, i talked to Orion in game last night and he verified he is never coming back. I look through this message and i am not sure why everyone jumped on him for what he considered trying to help.
And as far as attitude, if he did use attitude it was in shock and retaliation for being burned at the stake for really no reason.
I come here because i have gotten know a lot of you and like you. I am writing this post to say that i was surprised how the teeth came out in a matter of moments. Over what honestly was him trying to help.
Don’t know why i am surprised though. An internet forum board will always be just that.
Anyway, keep the lighthearted posting up!
