[SIZE=4]I got scammed once buying an ELM gun for 170000% that was normally around 17000% from one of the people who commonly lists scam auctions (just searched the gun and didn’t sort by buyout). They wouldn’t respond to any of my messages for days until they realized I was trying to figure it out on forums. We ended up making a deal where they gave me 1k ped of the 1700 back and i gave the gun back, so I was just out 700 ped for nothing instead. Hopefully the forum pressure works for you too and TY for the valuable info on someone I can blacklist from purchases or sales in the case they don’t do the right thing.[/SIZE]

Sorry to hear about your mistake, sadly as other’s said, MA will do nothing in such cases, and this is why situation like this repeats itself so many times…
Someone needs to refresh basics of probability 
1/200 is a chance for any UL item to have any TIR between 1 and 200.
For calculating chance of two same items having same TIR, you need to know total number of such items in existence and include it in calculation.

Tell MA you flushed it down the TT terminal and wish to spend 1k ped to have it returned.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to bore anyone to death by writing an all-embracing 10’000 word master’s thesis on probability theory that only one in two hundred (1/200 haha) wants or can understand. Nobody likes the know-it-alls, but you challanged it, so here we go as short as possible:
Axiom:
There at all 50-100 mod2600 around.
Each FAP has a TIR between 0 and 200
Each FAP has Tier 0-10

In this scenario, there are 50 to 100 mod2600, each with 10 possible Tier levels and a random TIR integer number between 0 and 200.
The probability that two owners have the same TIR value and Tier level ranges from 0.000’497 to approximately 0.005, depending on the total number of owners.
TL;DR:
The fap is almost unique, thus easy to identify.

I’m surprised no one has posted anything along these lines. Most people belong to a society and that can be useful approach in getting results.
Anyone know which society this person is in? or have him on friends list? (note other healers may have him in friends list - may be worth asking around)

Sadly Mindark won’t care about a big mistake like this. Even with their ability to read chatlogs from decades ago and see where every single item, resource etc. has gone.

Write a new mail and enter any part of the name in the “To” section, even if someone is in icognito you can find that persons name/link. If the person is not incognito the name will pop up in a list, if the person is in incognito hit “search server” and you get it.

This does not always work, just like the whisper method, but yes that’s also a good idea.
I genuinely don’t know how the methods aren’t identical or links to the same…database? Idk if that’s the right word but
Happened a couple days ago when I tried helping someone find someone else. Mail method didn’t work, but whisper did. Where I’ve also had Mail work and Whisper not work for the same person
Never heard anyone have any issues with it, myself included and i’ve used it a ton.

If it’s in protection mode he wouldn’t be able to show it to the hunter in trade window. Safer option would be to equip the fap and let hunter scan it.

i understand the problem, really sorry, i was in a moment where i was looking at the auctions, weapons, heals, mf chip, a little to see the prices, a little to dream.
then i came across a mod 2600, an auction that was 2 hours old, i looked at the history, i looked at my ped card and i made a compulsive purchase.
in reality, i have a resto adj and an easter ring with 5% lifesteal; for my usual game, that’s quite enough.
but it turns out that sometimes i like to go for bigger, harder-hitting mobs; i only have adj pixie and 3 parts paneleon armor; i was using an ur175 and it was getting on my nerves.
I once owned a 2350 mod and it was great, but now with resto and ring, it’s not so necessary.
I’d emptied my storage to get some cash and see about switching to a more powerful weapon so I could alternate between mobs.
the underlying problem is that I have a prof hunt level of 81, but I have to restrict myself to hunting mobs below my level because I have no protection.
i’m planning to make paneleon and tide claw to get imperium armor; my current weapon is sufficient; even for jellyworms.
I’m regularly confronted in my game between what I have to do, what I can do and what I want to do.
if i listened to myself, i’d buy L armor and L weapon and go on a continuous hunt for big atrox in the east of jurra plateau
hum, all this to say that I regret not having paid attention to the seller’s name; I was more in a compulsive buying state linked to my restricted game …
