Old school level 100 guns

What’s people’s opinions on using the older level 100 guns when your not maxed to use it (say level 80 so not miles away), obviously some of the older guns are horrendous but some have decent efficiency and DPP. Thanks ?

Still better than paying 130% MU for L guns

well simple, just calculate it for yourself.

Each “miss” is wasted ped.
Count the misses, multiply that with the cost to shoot and you will know what you feel about it

in some cases DPS is king. If you can kill more mobs than the next avatar over and are doing it with a few buffs you might get to the globals faster… long term it’s a bad idea, but short term it can sometimes be a useful strategy.

You can calculate the hit ability for a certain level using the formula on http://www.entropiawiki.com/Page.aspx?page=hit+ability . Level 80 gives 8.8 meaning 1.2% “skill misses”. Roughly the same ballpark as an Armatrix at 120-130% MU I think.

You also loose some damage. But this will only improve as you skill up. It’s not that long from 80 and up and you get more efficient by the day as you skill so you just have to decide how much you want to toss out the window and how long you can wait :stuck_out_tongue: I switched around level 80. You do pay for it but at that time the other choice was to pay high MU and not find enough guns to keep grinding. Today there is lots of decent L guns tho so I think I would have waited some longer.

Yes, but the decreased damage shouldn’t affect TT returns (according to notes on https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forum/index.php?threads/list-of-official-statments-pertaining-to-loot-post-2-0.263346/ ). DPP and DPS is of course also important though.
