Nope, I didn’t buy the Ghoul Armor set - although I am hopeful I will one day soon.
I went out and repaired my AS-98 to full TT value, and then purchased a Alekz Precision Scope for it (Instead of taking the one off my Marber Bravo) - as well as 2x Abrer Laser Sight.
Yeah, I dropped just over 400 ped on all of it, including an initial 50 ped worth of ammo. I actually profited off 43peds worth ammo used too…small profit, but still something.
Yup! I’m going gun for a bit Sure I’m 50 ranks from 4k in Longblade skill…and just unlocked MDA (And have it over 200 ranks now BTW ) - So Serendipity is on the horizon - distant but still there, but I felt it was time to start working tougher mobs and to do so effectively without having to get POUNDED as much with my blades I wanted the extra ranged firepower. I’m still going to push for 4k longblade (And beyond) but wanted to expand my abilities a bit…plus I heard that if you get a combined 2k in Handgun and Rifle (Or straight in just one of the two skills) that you most likely unlock Marksmanship – which I want as well. So I’m going to for it..I’m currently at 1818 combined Handgun/Rifle skill.
The only thing I don’t have yet is an amp for it. I’m going to buy a Fi/Ra/Co Beast amp…but wanted to try the load-out without the amp to get a feel for it.
Well! I like it. The damage I’m doing is decent, even though my Rifle skill is sub 900 ranks. (BTW - It increased almost 60 ranks in a couple hours last night )
I would still like a Beast amp (Mainly since it’s more efficient I think - and certainly less costly the others) but would prefer to borrow one if possible for a short time to get a feel for it.
Anyone have a Beast amp they could lend me? Or sell me cheap?
just go ahead and get the beast amp, its a good amp overall. i had one, you can get one for a fair price from auktumas amethera shopkeepers at any time. MMS comes at about 1k average in all ranged skills, which include perception and courage, but youre probly all set in those general skills which are used by both melee and ranged. gl =D
I was in the same situation as you Trakkur, all lb and no rifle I was up to 3200 lb when I switched to rifle. I got MMS @ 1450 rifle, but you’ll probably get it sooner since your general skills are higher than mine. Oh, and my hg was 580 at the time.

Yeah, Perception and Courage are NO trouble for me…Perception is just under 1500 and Courage is over 2k - far over I believe.
Yup, I’ve been told that MMS should unlock when either your Handgun or Rifle skills reach 2k, or when you reach a total of 2k in both combined -Carebear’s results seem to confirm this information.
I hadn’t heard that Courage and Perception play a part yet, but I’m not at all worried…since they are plenty.
At the rate I’m gaining Rifle skill with this new load-out I expect to get to the 2k combined barrier in a couple days, 3 at the most.
After that I guess RDA at some point in the distant future…and if I’m lucky Serendipity off my Melee skills as well. I believe I need to reach Great Swordman Professional Standing…which is three Standing ranks away from my current Experienced (Which COULD go up to Proficient once I cross 4k LB) - So I have a ways to go still until I reach the promised land.
yep i agree with crys on that 1 beast is a nice amp for ur skills atm and will be more cost effective for u atm. and it is roughly at 2k combined rifle and hg that u get mms. but never the less its always nice to have a bit of variety in your arsenal.
all in all very good choice trakkur and i hope it works out for u
btw another gd blp gun for ur skills if u can afford is the mini sweeper v1
Thankfully I don’t have NO Rifle/Handgun skills…my Handgun has been climbing since I purchased my M2875 a couple months ago, it’s currently at 918 I think, and Rifle was actually at 818 when I bought the stuff for the current AS-98 load-out - and it increased to 870+ by last night.
Of course those numbers are pitiful compared to other dedicated gun users, but I just couldn’t see the justification for the ammo burn until I started using it last night…holy cow! I’m happy. Of course I’ll ALWAYS be a blade user 1st, but at least now my abilities are expanding and I can seriously knock down a tough mob before it reaches me..thereby making my job easier.

Thanks Warmdogg, I’d like a Mini-Sweeper…but I’m sure it’s FAR above my means to purchase, especially if I’m waffling on spending another 2-300 ped on a Beast amp. :cringe:
Marksmanship unlocks at a ridiculously low level, i was at like 1300 rifle when i got it. surprised the crap out of me, i wasnt expecting to see it till after 2k…
yeah thanks euro made a good point which i do have to add, if u do choose to go with the v1 u cant amp scope or laser it as far as i know lol. but is still a very nice gun alone
I got the Beast Amp for 189 ped (TT+@150) and another 97 ped to repair it to full TT.
Damn fine weapon too…amped, double lasers, scope and I hit my first 2 shots for 61+ and 58+dmg…followed by a couple 38+ hits. Made me happy…skilling VERY nicely also..MMS should come soon at this rate.
Not to mention loot is coming, got myself an 8ped Feff followed by a few smaller faucs and a 36ped argo this morning in only a few mobs before I had to go to work.
I can’t wait to get homr tonight and do some SERIOUS hunting. Woooo!
interesting.. from what it sounds like, it seems as though im not far off from getting MMS.
Im mainly aranged fighter but switched to adding LB to my repitior so that i can make my hunting ped last longer.. 100 ped of ammo can easily be lost in one bad hunt with my weapons. but 100 ped can sustain 5-10 losing axe hunts.
i guess i should be expecting MMS when i get to qualified prostanding in handgun and rifle.
Right now my HG and rifle skills are about even both at about 1175, i expect to have both over 1200 after my next small deposit. my LWT is over 1600 and my BWT is almost to that with about 1400.
Im currently have a prostanding of initiated in all 3 prostanding sets with laser being the top 2
IRD for me is almost at qualified but the lowest skills in ranged damaged area is aim weapons handling is almost at qualified too.
I’ll let you know when i do unlock MMS since from other posts i shol dbe there around now.
