Noobs and Socs

Hi,

I just began too play last week and i begin to got a few skills near lvl 200 and i still feel a bit alone in this game (my only “more than one shot” contact is my mentor) and i was thinking about joining a society. Is there special things to know about it, like who are the good noob societies, etc… I didnt found much info on society from the noob side, and the soc terminal doesnt give alot of info on them, i find.

So , to sum up : Is it good for a noob to be in a soc and which one would you recommend ?

well some socs helps noobs and some don´t
as in my soc we help what we can so meber dont need mentor
hole soc is mentor to our newbies

just ask ppl :girl:

i r ingame atm if u wanna talk

Some societies have sub societies for their disciples. Nomads of the Apocalypse have Disciples of the Apocalypse for theirs. This enables all our disciples to have someone else to talk to other than their mentor. Its also good for our disciples to feel part of a group, and part of a group where they dont feel like complete newbies.

Maybe your mentors soc as somethng similar, or maybe he could invite you to his own soc, or atleast recommend one for you.

It depends on each individual if it is good for them to be in a soc or not.
In general yes its good to be in a soc, Each soc has its own benefits in wich it can offer its members. some have strict rules or code of honour.
The soc term in many cases tell you the rules and benefits up front and say if they take new people and what requirements if any for membership.
That will help a great deal in narrowing down options
It also depends on what you are looking for in a soc and what kind of people you want to be associated with.
Best way to find that out is after reading soc term and meeting, hanging out with members of the socs you or interested in.
Or even the other way around you can just take note of what societies that your friends, aquantances and other nice/helpful/interesting people you meet and look up thier society in the soc term.
Your choice on society will also be based on what you want to do in pe and what plans you have for your avatar.
It is also ok to be freelancer or even make your own society

you mention you seem interested in newb socs or ones that allow new people to join.
There are alot of good newbie socs in PE, some will help you get weapons and armor or other equipment
Pretty much all of them will definitely offer advice and sugestions on how to get along in pe.you would have a network of more experienced people available right in soc chat to answer questions you might have.

There several high skilled elite societies how have a training soc that caters to newbies with the benefit of being graduated into the elite one.
based on observations and interaction with thier members a couple of socs i would recomend would be.
jurai blood, i noticed alot of former jurai blood people have moved on to the more advanced, skilled and respected societies in pe.
There is nAn (Nowhere AND Nothing, that society is one of the ones that specialises in teaching/mentoring.
Or The Drow, they have alot of members so you would always have someone to talk to or hunt with or sweat with, and they will help you earn a starting rifle and other goodies to help you get by.
There are many others too, some of them may have recently created by people who got to be friends while sweating and helping each other sweat.
In a way it is kinda hard to not be in a soc you cant go for very long in pe before someone will invite you to thiers.
You might even have an invitation to help in the founding of a new society.

Just one more tip. I know this sounds obvious, but some people fall for it…

A guy asked today for me to join his Soc. I said ‘ok’ He read out the terms and one such was “To get in, you must give me 20ped as a joining fee. BUT! When you invite people into the Soc, you will get 10 ped back.”

That is what’s called a scam. If you ever hear someone say something like that, ask around first, to see if the Soc is maybe an elite one, which requires a small fee to join. If noone has ever heard of it, or has and they say it is a most evil scam, dont think TWICE! Politely decline. Dont get agitated and ropeable. If you do that, they will too, and chances are they may somehow get back at you. At all times, try to be as polite and nice as you can be!

(PS - this theory has no basis other than my own short meandering experiance.)

More info

Hello Yokto.

Yes I must agree that the soc terminals are laking in relevant information.
Mostly due to their design I think.

Anyway I was just floating through this forum and wandered into this thread, if you are interested in learning more about The Drow it can be found on our website http://thedrow.ath.cx/drow
